This Is Not an Actual Rush Limbaugh ColumnPosted on Jan 25, 2010
The wicked (and satirical, everyone!) masterminds over at The Onion have once again cooked up an illuminating, if discomfiting, parody—this time in prose form, skewering the particularly contentious public figure of Rush Limbaugh. It’s not pretty, but then, neither are many of the statements Limbaugh has emitted over the course of his storied broadcasting career. —KA Salty language alert!

I read it and thought that it was great! I wrote an article around it on my own blog and I’ll bet that quite a few readers believe it to be true! Essays like this excite the reader, hopefully to the degree that they will actually do a little research to verify it’s truth or falsehood. In this way, it becomes a learning tool to teach those simple minded folks out there that one cannot take for granted the veracity of just anything that is published. Take FOX News for example…Glenn, Sean, Gretchen, Billo and now, Sarah… all take liberties with the truth, yet their listeners refuse to believe that they could possibly be wrong. Remember FOX won a lawsuit that basicaly granted them the right to deliberately lie or mislead as they are an “Entertainment” show. Whoever wrote that Rush essay deserves a round of applause!

What’s next? A parody of Josef Goebbels? Hitler in drag? Joe Stalin as the seminar student he once was?
Even the mention of this ridiculous boob’s name is too much. Leave the poor fat fuck alone, let him bark his bullshit to the idiots who still turn their radios on, and give us something enlightening to read.

It’s tell that truthdig has to instruct all its humorless, dyspeptic fans about what is parody and what isn’t.
Actually, the more I think about it, there probably should be some distinction made since most articles are paragons of self parody.

This doesn’t seem like a parody to me. This would be exactly what would eventually cross the mind of any contemplative human who has behaved in such a manner.
