Despite a wary Congress, Obama has been edging toward a commitment on cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

With Copenhagen just three weeks off, President Obama is said to be weighing a provisional target for cutting American greenhouse gas emissions, potentially removing a major barrier to a worldwide agreement to combat global warming.

The Guardian:

President Barack Obama is considering setting a provisional target for cutting America’s huge greenhouse gas emissions, removing the greatest single obstacle to a landmark global agreement to fight climate change.

The Observer has learnt that administration officials have been consulting international negotiators and key players on Capitol Hill about signing up to a provisional target at the UN global warming summit in Copenhagen, now less than three weeks away.

Todd Stern, the state department climate change envoy, said the administration recognised that America had to come forward with a target for cutting its emissions. The US, which with China is responsible for 40% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, is the only major developed nation yet to table an offer.

“What we are looking at is to see whether we could put down essentially a provisional number that would be contingent on our legislation,” Stern said from Copenhagen, where he was meeting Danish officials. “We are looking at that, there are people we need to consult with.”

i guess all these Church of Global Warming members don’t like our democratic methods of governing ourselves. that’s what your Holy Book says. and i quote:

“Democracy is not a panacea. It cannot organize everything and it is unaware of its own limits. These facts must be faced squarely. Sacrilegious though this may sound, democracy is no longer well suited for the tasks ahead. The complexity and the technical nature of many of today’s problems do not always allow elected representatives to make competent decisions at the right time.”

that comes off of page page 71 of your Holy Book, The First Global Revolution” written by The Club of Rome. you’re holy man, al gore, is a member.

i have something else to reveal to you.

“The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome.
The real enemy then, is humanity itself.”

That’s on page 75.

they needed a calamity to unite the world and they came up with global warming. you people have been played!!!
