Although she was trailing primary challenger Bill Halter in at least one recent poll, Arkansas Democrats decided Tuesday to give Sen. Blanche Lincoln another shot. Lincoln had been targeted by unions and progressive groups after she killed the pro-labor bill she once co-sponsored and worked to weaken health care reform.

Washington Post:

All but written off by her critics—and even some friends—Lincoln faced a relentless challenge from Lt. Gov. Bill Halter, a fellow Democrat. She insisted to the end that voters would stick with the middle-of-the-road senator they had elected twice before.

She was right, by a comfortable margin, and in her jubilant victory remarks, she made clear that the liberal organizations and the national labor unions that invested millions of dollars and much manpower to defeat her had come up empty.

I still haven’t heard if there is going to be a verified recount, because the vote was so close, there should be.  I hope Halter didn’t roll over, but holds out for a verified recount like Senator Al Franken did in Minnesota, he will probably win if he does since she only beat him by 4 votes:

Only four vote win should call for a verification:

If you are a real progressive you can vote for John Gray - a Green Party candidate.

Yes,yes I know hysteria, you’ll just hand the vote to the Republicans..so how would that be different?  Still at war in two countries - check, gitmo - check, pro-business - check, no market reform - check

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Try something sane, vote green

Hey! Nice official picture, Blanche! You sure look the part of the demented Arkansas voter. That “Mommy, Dearest” grin really speaks volumes about the total ignorance of your state’s population regarding their longterm interests! Personally, I think the crackers are getting just what they deserve!
