Study: One-Sixth of Cancers Are Preventable

Posted on May 9, 2012

Cancer is caused by infection in one out of six patients worldwide, according to a medical review published in The Lancet Oncology. That means as many as 2 million people a year get cancer for lack of preventive vaccines and antibiotics.

The BBC explains:

Vaccines are available to protect against human papillomavirus (HPV)—which is linked to cancer of the cervix—and hepatitis B virus—an established cause of liver cancer.

And experts know that stomach cancer can be avoided by clearing the bacterial infection H. pylori from the gut using a course of antibiotics.

As you might imagine, these types of preventable, infection-related cancers were found in greater proportion in developing countries.

Whilst some cancers may well be caused by infection,
and some vaccines and antibiotics might prevent such
infections occurring or developing into cancer, I
have done a great deal of research of the researchers
in this field over the last 10 years.

This was done largely for personal reasons, as a
result of drugs that my doctor prescribed me, when I
didn’t have any symptoms apart from an ear infection
for which I wanted him to prescribe me suitable ear

As a result of taking his drugs, I became ill, and
went back to him, and he said that is nothing to do
with the drugs, and he prescribed me more drugs.

After a few months, I stopped taking all his drugs,
because I became 100% convinced that the drugs were
making me ill.

When I stopped taking the drugs, I got better.

Meanwhile, over the last 10 years, I not only
discover that many people I personally know are
taking similar drugs, but many of them have suddenly
got ill and dropped dead.

I no longer trust my doctor, who I haven’t seen for
10 years, nor the medical Profession, nor the
Pharmaceutical industry.

Do your own research before they kill you, change
your diet and lifestyle - do much more exercise, be
nice to people and have more sex.

It does sound like an advertisement for vaccines and antibiotics.
What about colon cancer which often starts as an inflammation of the polyps? How do you get rid of the unwanted but also essential bacteria in the intestines?
Yes we have to look at all the preservatives and chemicals we consume, and consider the radiation from mobile phones and other sources. The “research"against these dangers may be biased and the conflict of interest not decleared.

Think outside the box (the article)a bit Tim. Chemicals are ubiquitous in the environment and wreak havoc on thyroid, endocrine and hormonal system functions. This in turn impairs immune function and contributes to the rise in cancers of all types. It’s just like modern medicine to try and suppress the immune system with antibiotics when as soon as that course of treatment is over, you will always be at risk again for a reoccurance of the illness because the basic cause was never addressed. And now your immune system is totally compromised by the previous treatment.Research also how many medical and pharmaceutical companies are invested in the poison spreading(chemical) industry as well.

I believe this article to be somewhat inaccurate.

British Researchers in the UK have already concluded that over 90% of cancers are preventable simply through healthy diets.  In addition, most such cancers can be reversed by implementing such healthy diets.

This revelation was announced about 2 years ago so it is odd that the Lancet would come out with information that downplays its own country’s findings.

@ grokker

The article is just concerning viruses and bacteria, not chemicals. Whereas the use of
some chemicals willcease when people start giving a @&$!, your only defense against
bactertia, viruses and prions is science.

Spare us modern science. Your “cures” are usually worse than the disease itself. More antibiotics? Really? Why not a sane, sensible environment devoid of the hundreds of more often than not unnecessary chemicals that cause cancer to begin with. Oh, but that would get in the way of “busyness” as usual. Like pharmaceutical and chemical company profits.
