The murder rate in Los Angeles is shocking—shockingly low. Fewer Angelenos were killed in 2010 than any of the last 43 years, and back then the city was 30 percent less crowded. Possible explanations for the drop include an easing of the drug epidemic, a gentler, more enlightened approach to gangs, and the fact that more Americans than ever are sitting in prison. —PZS

Even people that commit murder have to feed themselves & with the economic downturn- sustainability & food become job #1.
