Blighty born: Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

Thailand’s prime minister may be in some hot water. Abhisit Vejjajiva acknowledged that he holds British citizenship, an admission that may make him vulnerable to prosecution for the deaths of around 90 people in anti-government demonstrations back in 2008. —JCL

The Guardian:

Thailand’s prime minister has admitted for the first time that he is also a British citizen, which opponents believe makes him liable for prosecution for alleged human rights abuses during a recent crackdown on anti-government protests.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva publicly acknowledged his dual nationality on Thursday during a debate in parliament. He automatically holds British citizenship because he was born in Newcastle upon Tyne to parents from a well-to-do Bangkok family. He would have to specifically renounce it to lose it.

“I admit I have not given up British nationality because it is understood legally that … if the nationality laws are conflicting, Thai law must be used,” Abhisit said in response to an opposition MP’s question.

I’d like to see the list of people in our government who are not solely US citizens..  that have other citizenship… at least those that have access to top-secret and classified information not available to most ordinary US citizens.

That would be instructive..

hello. testing the global concerns over birther outcry
is insignificant here in the land of Oboymamma. the
problem here is, Newcastle upon Tyne- ...is it not time
for Newcastle to get off Tyne, get up, and walk away?

Boy, this is going to give some crazies in the US a new idea. Can’t wait until the Bagger-Birthers start a new movement to determine ‘Of which Nation is Obama a citizen?’‘Where are his papers?’‘Who’s his Mama?’

Can a whole party/gang be committed en masse to a mental holding facility under current US law?

This man is a criminal - a genuine criminal who holds the post of PM because it suits the army for him to have it and because he doesn’t support democracy (including justice for its rural population) for Thailand. Where is the Interpol warrant for HIS arrest?
