“I was ordered not to tell them,” testified U.S. Army Spc. Bryan O’Neal on Tuesday. According to the AP, the Army Ranger was instructed by a superior to conceal information about the friendly-fire incident from Pat’s brother and fellow Army Ranger Kevin Tillman on threat of punishment.

Both Kevin and Mary Tillman testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and criticized the government’s effort to spin a self-serving propagandistic narrative at the expense of the truth.

AP via AOL:

WASHINGTON (April 24) - An Army Ranger who was with Pat Tillman when he died by friendly fire said Tuesday he was told by a higher-up to conceal that information from Tillman’s family.

“I was ordered not to tell them,” U.S. Army Specialist Bryan O’Neal told the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

He said he was given the order by then-Lt. Col. Jeff Bailey, the battalion commander who oversaw Tillman’s platoon.

So what else is new?  Has everyone forgotten how the first Gulf War was sold to the public?  By inventing stories of Iraqi soldiers committing wanton atrocities, including pulling babies out of incubators and throwing them on the floors to be left to die.  Americans were outraged and got behind the war 100%.  Does anybody care that it was a hideous lie cooked up by an American P.R. firm hired by the powers who wanted war?  To the senior Bush’s credit, he nixed the invasion of Iraq.  It’s too bad that some of his wisdom didn’t rub off on his narcissistic son.

When you’re a careerist, you have to protect your career at all costs. Honor, duty, and country take the back burner.

Those who instructed their subordinates to conceal information regarding Tillman death are not human beings. Only half-beasts & half-devils could do this to their comrades-in-arm !
