Delaware’s tea party candidate for the Senate, Christine O’Donnell, poses with two young supporters at a local tax day rally in Wilmington in this shot from her campaign website.

In the lead-up to November’s midterm elections, there have been signs in some states that moderate Republican candidates might face considerable challenges from tea party contenders. Whether this will all add up to more power at the polls for the GOP or divisive fractures within conservative ranks, however, remains to be seen.  —KA

CNN:

In the highest-profile races, the results will provide further evidence of whether the tea party movement can continue to knock off moderate GOP contenders. The victors will run in November against Democrats considered vulnerable due to high unemployment and a general anti-incumbent mood across America.

In Delaware, nine-term Republican Rep. Mike Castle is in a tight contest with political commentator and tea party favorite Christine O’Donnell in the GOP U.S. Senate primary.

The bitterly contested campaign saw O’Donnell receive the endorsement of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and more than $150,000 in late spending from the Tea Party Express.

In response, conservative stalwart Bill Kristol, who fears O’Donnell is incapable of winning the Senate seat in November, said: “I know Sarah Palin. I respect Sarah Palin. And with all due respect—Christine O’Donnell is no Sarah Palin.”

Its rumored that Bill Kristol respects Sarah Palin because its been reported that
she has had the flags of Israel and the Staars and Stripe tattooed on her anatomy.

As far as Christine is concerned its seems she is still to show any signs of
tattoos.

and so it goes….

Good money is always driven out by bad money.  True gold coins will be driven out by debased ones, same for silver.

And so the smarter, truer, more honest, saner, and more empathetic Republicans are being driven out of their party by the Sarah Palin clones.  O’Donnell in Delaware makes Palin look smart and well-educated.

In fact, Palin is like a Joe McCarthy, riding a wave and trying to guide it but with NO understanding or care of what damage that wave can do, only what it can do for her.

As diarrhea from dysentery is Montezuma’s Revenge, the destruction of brains in American politics is John McCain’s Revenge.

Fiftygigs: OMG! How can these idiots in Missouri consider an unborn clump of cells, or if from the moment of conception a single fertilized cell, a SEPARATE human life. What do they not understand about the word Separate?

I don’t know what they are drinking or smoking down there in Missouri, but the apparent lack of understanding of words and their meanings is obvious among the Conservatives party. Perhaps they should talk to the women(hopefully they are not all brainwashed into this mode of thinking) in their state and become enlightened to the true meaning of separate.

Omop: Sounds like the scene from the movie “Legally Blonde 2” when the people gathered on the staircase singing and dancing to “Who Let The Dogs Out” while trying to get the “Brusier Bill” passed. Is this what we have to look forward to with all of those brainless cheerleader type females from the Tea Party?

And lest we forget the most famous CHEERLEADER from the recent Republican past, George W. Bush (the W. in that case stands for woman).I keep trying to forget, but it is important that the public doesn’t forget because if they do, we can end up with an even stupider group of unqualified leaders(?) in public office.

I got a call from Sarah Palin the other night, she kept talking and talking and wouldn’t listen to anything I had to say.

I don’t remember what she said, so it couldn’t be that important.

Perhaps this is becoming more than tongue in cheek:

The headless Tea Party as metaphor for the American Al Qaeda: truck bombings in Utah, Mass..Del, NY last night.

Prolifers-Abstinencers-Islam Haters-Birthers as metaphor for the American Taliban.

How can Bill Kristol respect Sarah palin, a well documented LIAR. Used to be when a person was known as a liar, it was a bad thing. When did it become an asset? Talk about the family values group and their poor examples they set for the rest of the world to see.

As for the repugs, they help create this mess, let them live with it.

Too bad there are no requirements as to education, work experience or other assets needed to run for public office as all of the people running the last several decades have been sorely lacking in the skills needed to do their jobs correctly, with a few exceptions. You need to jump through more hoops and testing and education to even acquire an interview for a job washing dishes in this country than you do to run for public office. No wonder this country is in such a sorry state.

CONSERVATIVES DO IT IN MISSOURI!

Senate Bill 793

“The life of each human being begins at conception ... Abortion will terminate the life of a SEPARATE ... human being.” [emphasis added]

Ladies of Missouri, you are now officially vassals of the State.

Congratulations.

Everybody else. Hold on, it won’t be long now.

My deepest apologies to the progressives, libertarians, and frustrated liberals on this site.

I know I’ve been very vocal about urging you to vote. I’m sorry.

It looks like the Tea Party is going to punish the Republican Party, so you don’t have to.

You guys and gals can just stay home, assured that the Tea Party will represent you well in Congress. No taxes 4evr. X is Lord. Global rule by Guns. Managed pregnancies.

Sorry I got on your case. Things are certainly going to get a whole lot better soon.

Can you imagine how fast this nation would crumble if we had a house of reps filled to the brim with the worst kind of Bachman, Bohner scum?

Keep in mind, tea partiers are just old John Birchers and Klansmen who have made a more fashionable hat choice.
