Thousands attend a funeral in Al-Qsair, Syria.

Fear and bloodshed remain a constant in the Syrian capital of Damascus, where at least one person was killed and several were injured Saturday when security forces opened fire at the funeral of three youths killed Friday during a protest against President Bashar al-Assad.

Opposition members said the government also resumed its attack on the central city of Homs.

The funeral attack came after Chinese envoy Zhai Jun spoke with President Assad in Damascus. China continued to reject the option of U.N. military intervention in Syria, saying simply that all parties involved should stop fighting. —ARK

BBC:

Activists say there was a huge turnout for Saturday’s funeral in the Mezzeh district on the western edge of Damascus. Mourners were burying three youths shot dead during protests following Friday prayers.

The funeral procession turned into one of the biggest demonstrations the capital has seen, with thousands of people chanting slogans calling for an end to the Assad regime.

According to activists, security forces opened fire, killing at least one protester and injuring several others.

dog—-your link is not to the IDF but to a specific program…......

Is there a difference between Mahal and the other IDF programs for which I can
register on this website and regular IDF service?

Mahal and the other IDF programs on this website are only administrative gates
for the simplified enlistment of non-Israelis and overseas Israelis. The actual
service of the volunteers is shoulder to shoulder with regular Israeli soldiers,
even if the minimum service time is usually shorter than the regular IDF paths.
Otherwise there are no major differences.

arab Israelis have served in the IDF for a long, long time…...

BUT that’s not the point, the IDF is the ISRAELI ARMY, not the JEWISH ARMY…...
There are no separate “overseas” (or even English speaker) units or jobs but the
overseas enlistees serve always shoulder to shoulder with regular Israeli
soldiers.

on thin ice here, tic: e.g.

Who Can Volunteer for the IDF?

http://www.Mahal-IDF-Volunteers.org/about/faq.htm#documentationthatyouarejewish

Do I have to prove that I am Jewish or Zakai Aliya?

By the time you sign up with the Ministry of Defense in person in Israel you
have to submit a confirmation stating that you are Jewish (or if you are Zakai
Aliya that one of your parents or one of your grandparents is/was Jewish),
signed by a rabbi residing outside Israel. The confirmation must have a detailed
letterhead with name of the Jewish community, address, phone, fax and email.
The exact name of the rabbi must be clearly readable.

It wasn’t a “Jewish Army” mat. it was an Israeli one.

and they were not defeated, they were unsuccessful in
attacking on the ground.

Hezbollah achieved nothing at enormous cost.

The USraeli military strategist believe that road to Tehran goes through Damascus. That was the reasoning behind Israeli invasion of Lebanon in Summer 2006. However, the defeat of 30,000-strong Jewish army at the hands of Hizbullah fighters in 34-day war forced USrael to abandon its plan to invade Syria.

The NATO’s Next “Humanitarian” War?: The Insurgency in Syria is based on
the “Libya Model”

http://www.4thmedia.org/2012/02/12/syria-natos-next-humanitarian-war/

Since the middle of March 2011, Islamist armed groups –covertly supported
by Western and Israeli intelligence– have conducted terrorist attacks directed
against government buildings including acts of arson. Amply documented,
trained gunmen and snipers including mercenaries have targeted the police,
armed forces as well as innocent civilians. There is ample evidence, as outlined
in the Arab League Observer Mission report, that these armed groups are
responsible for killing civilians.

These armed groups are supported by foreign intelligence operatives, which,
according to reports, have integrated rebel ranks:

“As the unrest and killings escalate in the troubled Arab state, agents from MI6
and the CIA are already in Syria assessing the situation, a security official has
revealed. Special forces are also talking to Syrian dissident soldiers. They want
to know about weapons and communications kit rebel forces will need if the
Government decides to help.

“MI6 and the CIA are in Syria to infiltrate and get at the truth,” said the well-
placed source. “We have SAS and SBS not far away who want to know what is
happening and are finding out what kit dissident soldiers need.” “ Syria will be
bloodiest yet, Daily Star). (emphasis added)

The objective of this armed insurrection is to trigger the response of the police
and armed forces, including the deployment of tanks and armored vehicles with
a view to eventually justifying a military intervention, under NATO’s
“responsibility to protect” mandate.

A NATO-led intervention is on the drawing board. It was drafted prior to the
onset of the protest movement in March 2011. According to military and
intelligence sources, NATO, Turkey and Saudi Arabia have been discussing “the
form this intervention would take”.

US, British and Turkish operatives are supplying the rebels with weapons.
Britain’s Ministry of Defence confirms that it “is drawing up secret plans for a
NATO-sponsored no-fly zone [in coordination with its allies] “but first it needs
backing from the United Nations Security Council.” (Syria will be bloodiest yet,
Daily Star). According to these secret plans: “fighting in Syria could be bigger
and bloodier than the battle against Gaddafi”. (Syria will be bloodiest yet, Daily
Star).

A humanitarian military intervention modeled on Libya is contemplated. NATO
Special Forces from Britain, France, Qatar and Turkey are already on the ground
inside Syria in blatant violation of international law. Reports from military
sources (November 2011) confirm that:

“British Special forces have met up with members of the Free Syrian Army (FSA)
… The apparent goal of this initial contact was to establish the rebel forces’
strength and to pave the way for any future training operations. … More recent
reports have stated that British and French Special Forces have been actively
training members of the FSA, from a base in Turkey. Some reports indicate that
training is also taking place in locations in Libya and Northern Lebanon. British
MI6 operatives and UKSF (SAS/SBS) personnel have reportedly been training the
rebels in urban warfare as well as supplying them with arms and equipment. US
CIA operatives and special forces are believed to be providing communications
assistance to the rebels.” http://www.eliteukforces.info/uk-military-
news/0501012-british-special-forces-syria.php (emphasis added)

how many mourners has the US murdered and is on a daily basis murdering as they were peacefully marching to burials in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, etc ? (you know, using drones, the issue is well documented yet, unreported in propagandist msm).

Assuming the above story is true (which is highly doubtful: any news reported in western media on Syria has systematically been a lie), why truthdig’s systematic biased focus on the side whose annihiliation would benefit the country of scheer’s second (or first) citizenship?

Connect the dots.
