Swiss May Consider Death Penalty Reboot

Posted on Aug 24, 2010

Thanks to the country’s democratic signatory system, the Swiss government may soon be compelled to reconsider the “neutral” nation’s official stance on the death penalty in certain cases if its supporters are successful in drumming up 100,000 signatures by late February.  —KA

The campaigners have until 24 February to collect the 100,000 signatures necessary to force a popular vote on the subject, it has been announced.

Campaigners want murder involving sexual abuse, particularly of children, to be punishable by death.

Switzerland abolished the death penalty for civilian criminal cases in 1942.

And not once, as is the habit of the Marxist Left and Dems…is a there a discussion “why” the Swiss are seeking the death penalty again.

Here are the facts: The Swiss have been invaded by Moslems from all over the world, and especially some of the worst criminals, white slavers, dope dealers, and thugs from Albania…

...who have turned Switzerland from being a very peaceful, well-run country where people never had to lock their doors…and honesty and respect was a way of life…into an armed camp.

Ninty-nine percent of all violent crime, and especially brutal rapes against Swiss women are by Moslems. This statistic is also found in Norway, Denmark, France, Germany, and Sweden and other Northern European countries who have allowed Moslem immigration.

Moslems are violent criminals…and not only is Switzerland seeking the death penalty, but many countries are now considering wholesale deportation.

The US will come to this conclusion in a few years also as Moslems attempt to invade and control every aspect of our country, schools, media, government, and lives.

If any rational person just know what Moslems pray for 5 times a day, which is the destruction of all infidels (meaning you)...they would find that the Koran is bigoted hate speech, and all such Moslems should be deported.

That time will come….I assure you.

Mr Sol,

A few quick points: 1- ive been a soc dem basically on economic issues since the early 80s before university. And Im not a party guy. Federally, i vote green and sometimes ndp. Provincially the same. Locally, in my ward, i vote for my buddy a liberal. The mayor, a tory, ive supported, so no my opinions are not based on party politics. And im less a soc dem on certain social policies esp. on the long-gun registration, immigration… the exception is cap pun. And as stated look at Morin, Marshall and Milgard, being found NOT guilty after DNA confirmation. In cap pun jurisdictions they would have had no second chance. And as said where do you draw the line? After child-sex killers, as brutal as they are, who is next? Many conservatives, history has taught, will push and widen those to be executed. 2- i meant zero dissing to your personally. Its governments i was calling savage. 3- regarding abortion etc its our ELECTED reps, in parliament, that discuss such issues then vote. If you believed our system has failed canadians thats your opinion and obviously in our dem. i respect you right to say so. 4- check out 5- we agree to disagree 6- enjoy your day. cheers.

With all due respect JKehoe your position is typical or today’s failing so called ‘democratic’ politics. You start your message by saying that has a social democrat you cannot agree. Do you believe in something because you do yourself or because your party does? This issue has nothing to do with left or right. It has to do with discussing whether or not death penalty is justified in some cases extreme cases. You end your comment exactly with the same atittude. People that execute are savages and uncivilized. I wonder what you call people that allow these criminals to watch porn in jail, pay them to tell where the bodies they raped and torture are and that from inside the prison challenge the Canadian judicial system?
It is very difficult to have a serious discussion in this limited way but I certainly think that as a civilized non-savage Canadian I should at least have the right to discuss the death penalty, euthanasia, abortion and other controversial issues without being insulted and without being limited by party lines and lawyers interests. Right now our governments decide these issues without our mandate or input whatsoever.

Last thoughts. IMO, that is exactly why they were drumming up support- to make the country aware of this brutal issue. And I suspect they withdrew due to the fact that even if passed it would have contravened protocol 6 of the EC on HRs according to a friend.

To bad that this was withdrawn. I was hoping that a country with the democratic reputation like Switzerland would make people think about the issue more seriously.
Suave I may not be as sensitive as as you might like me to be but that is a fact of life. We all have different life experiences and we live our lives based on them. If you were the father of one of the boys that Olson tortured I wonder what your opinion on death penalty would be, especially if Olson would try to bargain with you to just let you know where all the body parts he cut out were hidden. There is way more but I just leave it there.

Sol, I understand your position. As a Canadian social dem I can’t agree. This very emotional debate can lead to a slippery slope opening the death penalty to other “undesirable” individuals. As a middle-class, straight, blue-eyed white guy I’d be amoung the least likely to be labelled an undesirable. Not so with others. Anywhere the death pen. is applied its the poor, the “outsider” and minorities, those not having access to high-price legal help, coupled with white institutionalized prejudiced, who largely tend to be executed. Remember Milgard, Morin and Marshall. They all got life here. Stateside, most likely, one or more would have got it. All were poor, one a native, another an odd-ball. And surprise with new DNA, ALL were proven innocent. Only savages and the uncivilized execute, IMO.

FYI the “popular initiative” (not sure what the english translation is) has been
withdrawn by the campaigners. That means that there will be no referendum on
the matter.

Why did “KA” put “neutral” in quotation markers? Was “he” trying to be “sarcastic”?

Maybe the Swiss are a little more clear-eyed about crime and punishment than the average Western whiner.

And Sol: You’re not being very sensitive. I’m sure Olson was teased as a child, was picked last for dodgeball, his homophobia was caused by mother issues, and his alienation was compounded by the worry that your neighbors to the south were on the verge of destroying the planet at any moment.

This is not surprising at all. I believe that soon most of the Western Countries will adopt back the death penalty for some types of crimes. Here in Canada, for example, we have a Mr. Olson that raped and tortured woung males and even has the right to challenge the justice system. He even watched porno movies at the prison at one time. His wife was paid 90 thousand dollars when he made a deal with the police and told them where some of the bodies were. This has outraged Canadians and has changed the minds on many of us on death penalty. This monster should have no rights and should pay the price for what he did. I am sure that put to a vote, for cases like this, Canadians would vote yes for the death penalty. Everyone is tired of these abuses and the role of lawyers that just profit immensely from these cases. Our justice system is more of a for profit lawyer industry.
