Journalists, Cop Arrested in U.K. Corruption Investigation

Without warning Saturday morning, Scotland Yard picked up four current and former senior Sun journalists and one active police officer in connection with ongoing investigations into alleged exchanges of cash and information between cops and the paper’s reporters. Police said the arrests had nothing to do with the investigation into phone hacking by News of the World journalists. —ARK

The Guardian:

The Metropolitan police have also launched a search at News International’s headquarters in Wapping in a bid to secure any potential evidence relating to alleged payments to police by journalists.

… The four Sun employees arrested are understood to be Mike Sullivan, the Sun’s crime editor, the former managing editor Graham Dudman, the executive editor Fergus Shanahan and Chris Pharo, a news desk executive.
