Mr. Fish

For the second year in a row, the Society of Professional Journalists has picked our resident genius artist, Dwayne Booth—you know him as Mr. Fish—as the recipient of its prestigious Sigma Delta Chi Award for Editorial Cartooning in the Online Independent category.

We couldn’t agree more with this choice. Take a look at the lineup of cartoons that constituted just a few of Fish’s best of 2010 by clicking here. Congratulations, Dwayne—Mr. Big Fish.  —KA

Also: Check out this “hearty plug” for Mr. Fish’s new book, “Go Fish,” from fellow cartoonist Daryl Cagle. And Fish fans can see his work as the featured illustrations for Chris Hedges’ Truthdig columns on a biweekly basis.

SPJ.org:

INDIANAPOLIS – The Society of Professional Journalists is pleased to announce recipients of the 2010 Sigma Delta Chi Awards for excellence in journalism.

Judges chose the winners from over 1,400 entries in categories covering print, radio, television and online. The awards recognize outstanding work published or broadcast in 2010.

Is it just me?  I can’t access the winning cartoons.  I click the arrows and the numbers move from 1 to 5, but I see no cartoons.  It’s just a dark space with numbers I can move.

You are the absolute best, Mr Fish, and I am still in love with you.
This is certainly not the last important award you will recieve for your brilliant work.  One day you will be recognized as the national treasure you really are.
Congradulations!
