“What, sir, is the use of a militia? It is to

the bane of liberty.”

“In a government of law, the existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously. Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for the law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy.”

There are hundreds of soldiers who are coming back from horror but not coming out of it. The fancy name for this problem that is caused by training young men and women to kill is called Post Traumatic Stress Dissorder (PTSD) and the Bureau of Veterans’ Affairs doesn’t want to acknowledge it, has questionable to no treatment for it, even though it is effecting thousands of wives and children whose suffering is hidden in shame and fear.
This is a primary reason why wars must stop—utterly and entirely. Other ways of solving pborlems must be found. The human soul cannot withstand the brutalities of war, and these are the signs of the soul crying out in revolt.
Shame on us for not recognizing this terrible illness and for not putting a stop to its cause.

I hate to say it, but he might have a case. He’s got the former Pres, VP, and Justice Dept all on record saying that it isn’t harmful.
If this doesn’t convince everyone that waterboarding is torture, nothing will.
