Sheldon Adelson: An Anti-Semite’s Dream

Email this item Email    Print this item Print    Share this item... Share

Posted on Feb 13, 2012
AP / Sebastian Scheiner

Sheldon Adelson sits during a 2007 event at Israeli President Shimon Peres’ residence in Jerusalem.

Eric Alterman writes in The Nation that the casino magnate who has propped up Newt Gingrich’s campaign is the ultimate caricature of “the anti-Semitic clichés that have dogged the Jewish people throughout history.” And yet no one seems to have noticed.

Adelson takes a hard line in advocating what he considers to be Israel’s best interests and has made no secret of his desire to bend U.S. foreign policy to his will, which plays into the paranoid anti-Semitic claptrap about a secret cabal of wealthy Jews pulling the strings of world leaders. As Alterman writes: “How can it be that the self-proclaimed ‘richest Jew in the world’ can buy the foreign policy of a major party’s potential presidential candidate on behalf of a vision of endless Israeli aggression—up to and including US support for yet another potentially disastrous pre-emptive attack—and the historically abused entity of ‘the Jews’ has somehow escaped the blame?”

The columnist takes it as a sign of “the near-complete disappearance of this once wholly respectable American prejudice” and argues that anti-Semitism has now been distorted by neoconservatives and their allies to mean anti-Israel, as opposed to anti-Jew.  —PZS

The issue is not the religious background of this particular creep.  The problem is that we allow creeps of any background to buy political power that benefits their own interests and causes.  Let’s make all this absolutely illegal.  Don’t vote for the same leadership that keeps making the bribery game so disgustingly easy.

Recalling the story about the tower of Babble, I cannot help but find words and their meanings change according to the people and the times.

For instance I used to work in agriculture and found the names of various plants and especially weeds were seldom named the same in different locations. As people devolve they seem to make shit up, which is par for the course of world events.

I mean, for example the word gay has been commandeered by the ‘gays’ same thing for ‘stupidity’ being commandeered by the GOP. Anyway for the longest time now I have been hearing words bandied about like kids lobbing dirt clods at a Republican Convention.

Well now I get to the word at hand; ‘Semite’  and even better for what appears a simple definition of what is a Semite.
“1
a : a member of any of a number of peoples of ancient southwestern Asia including the Akkadians, Phoenicians, Hebrews, and Arabs b : a descendant of these peoples
2
: a member of a modern people speaking a Semitic language”

Far as I can decern, this guy is so filthy rich, even Mittens couldn’t afford to purchase Sheldon Adelson’s used skives whether anti Semite, anti human or anything else for that matter!

Alterman’s points are correct, conservatives have equated non-support of the reactionary, neo-con government of Israel with Nazism.  This has cleverly opened the door to for the tinfoil hat crowd to claim their conspiracies to be vindicated, while wasting any discussion of alternatives to the Israeli government’s policies on defending yourself against the specious claims of Anti-Semitism.

For the Anii-Semites, history is, of course, only about 30 days old.  Yes there are a lot of wealthy Jews, but if your people had spent a few thousand years having to escape the genocidal scapegoating of Anglo-Saxon Christian societal failures in the middle of the night, how long would it take you to discover that
its better to have a more liquid economic base.  Its much easier to load gold smithing, gems, banking, in a cart than a farm or factory.

Even today a great deal of the Fundamentalist Evangelical Christian carte blanche support of the Israeli government is based on a tenet of faith as leaving a viable Israel with a large enough number of Jews for Jesus to condemn in his return orgy of vengeance (ask Tim LaHaye about the 144,000).  It isn’t necessarily paranoia if they are, in fact, out to get you.

Yes, Adelson sets himself up as a stereotype, and proud of it.  But does anyone argue that disagreeing with the Koch Brothers makes you anti-Christian, or anti-white?  Does anyone argue that the Koch Brothers are out to make the Germanic peoples the rulers of the world?

Those in the know understand and are dissappointed that the United States has become little more than a subsidary of Israel. Where U.S. Presidents are repeatedly back-stabbed, lied too and made to look like incompetent fools.

I am glad the Arab Spring is ushering new Arab governments in the Middle East and North Africa that are not American or European puppet regimes.

Conversely the Arab League needs to stand on its own two feet and protect innocent Syrian people while proving human rights is now a serious concept in Middle East Politics. I believe that act alone of a unified Arab league fighting for human rights will put the fear of literal survival in the hearts and minds of the Israeli Aparthied government.

Sure western power can back up the Arab league, but, first the Arab need to prove they are for real.

a bit about the book of a myth, aka, torah? hebrew scribes [probably smoking s’mthing or with heads in the very hot sun] said that shem
was noah’s eldest son; and from that name some of the peoples of ancient canaan got the name “shemites”.
however, far seeing ashkenazic peoples, knowing how ignorant christians had been, changed the label shem or shemite to either sem or
semite.
this ruse worked butifully for them even before the first zionist congress at basle 1897.
obviously, christians ‘knew’ that there had been only semites in excanaan; thus, it had to have belonged to ALL semites no matter where
they lived for the last 3 to 5 millennia only—and not to ‘newcomers’ to it; i.e., a non-semitic people; aka, arabs.
so, long before ww1 and ww2, christo-talmudic crowd had decided to eliminate indigenes of palestine; and who may have dwelt there
continuously for at least 8 millennia.
the holocaust was just a pretense by christo-zionists war criminals for victimizing yet another indigenous pop.
==
why were europeans so unknowledgable? well, they were not allowed to read the bible. the church also vigorously rejected any
education for peasant-servant class, persecuted scientists, thwarted justice, peace, etc.
there were universities in europe since 12th century; alas, only nobles could attend them. one of their favorite classes was? you guessed
it, godology? studying ‘god’ instead real god studying nobles and or priest-nobles. and the hell descended upon us ever since! and to
continue!  also spricht bozhidarevski

one can be anti-sephardic, -mizrahic, -ashkenazic, -talmudic, -torahic, -judaistic, -theft of land by mizrahic, ashkenazic,
and sephardic peoples, but one cannot ever be anti-semitic or anti-jewish.
you cannot be that no matter what the above conglomeration of ethoses say or want you to evaluate as true.
only mizrahic admixutre of peoples may be viewed as either pure shemites; thus partly or wholly hebraic/yehudic.
hebrews are as shemitic as canaanites, nabateans, arameans, assyrians, chaldeans, akkadians, hivvites, jebusites,
phoenicians, edomites, moabites, et al have been.
ashkenazic group of numerous peoples appear of euroasian origin. as such they have no connection whatever with modern
or ancient shemites.
and i am not an anti-, but a pro-shemite. not, of course, pro their own ONE PERCENT or organized ‘religions’.
==
caveat about euroasians of talmudic cult or me of not being connected: we are all connected to each other—we all came
from afrikans and over 50k or 100k yrs lost their colors, features and—damn it!—also our minds. thanks

Even cockroaches (nice phrase for one who is
complaining about bigotry) can see that Jews are more
than prominent in the upper levels of banking, the
corporate media, Hollywood and among the neocons that
brought the Middle East wars, just for starters.  That
is a fact. It does invite interest. What is done with
that fact is something else.

This guy may be a poster boy for anti-semitic diatribe but so is Foster Friess and he’s not Jewish.

Just zionists trying to convince everyone that they represent all the Jews, which they don’t.

If the US Congress were not up for sale to the highest bidder, the likes of Adelman would not be able to buy it.  Adelman also uses his money to dabble in internal Israeli politics and to push a right wing agenda.  When bloody war comes, it will not be his grandkids out there being killed and killing.

Whenever the word anti-Semitic is mentioned to specifically refer to a racist attitude towards the Jews in Europe and America during a certain period of history, I can’t help thinking about two ironies related to this phenomenon:

1. One irony is that Antisemitism has been used by the Zionist movement to blackmail modern politicians in both Europe and America to fall in line with each and all of the evil policies of Zionist Israel in practicing apartheid and racism against the surviving victims of supposedly their cousins in Palestine. By extension, historical antisemitism, has also been used in more recent times to generate huge amounts of money to support Zionists to practice antisemitism against another group of more pure Semitic people who are the Arabs.

2. The term Semitic refers to those who are believed to be descendents of Sam the son of Noah, and that includes the Jews, which statistics tell us that there are about 14 million of them in the whole world. However, the larger family of Semitics are the Arabs who are estimated to be around 400 millions in 19 Arabic speaking countries. And Arabs believe that they are more pure Semites than the Jews who during their restless history intermingled and intermarried with other races. The irony in this is that a smaller family of Semitics (i.e.Jews)has manipulated the Semitic ancestry for themselves since it pays handsomely to add the prefix anti to Semitic (hence anti-Semitic)to both blackmailing and generating money and support for the wrongs of evil Zionism.

I don’t know when the Arabs will wake up and openly protest in world forums the exclusive manipulation of the Semitic race by their junior cousins, turned their oppressors and their most sworn enemies!!!

Just as al-Qaeda is the best thing that happened to neoCons, the best thing that happened to today’s Israel Firsters is anti-semitism. I sometimes wonder if all the anti-semitism barfed onto public chat boards is an Israel Firster ruse to get sympathy for Israel and all things Israeli. (yea, I know, tin foil hat stuff, lol)

Israel maintains the largest “open air prison” in human history; Gaza.

The Israeli Mossad has murdered 5 Iranian Scientist in cool blood (some in front of their families).

During the Apartheid period of South Africa, Israel supplied weapons to the Racist Government (with the blessing of the US); at one point Ariel Sharon (before he became Prime Minster) tried to sell these monsters nuclear weapons!

Ironically, Cuba sent troops to fight with the Blacks (and Joe Slovo).

I could go on, but what would be the point; it would seem that Sheldon Adelson is irrelevant when it comes to feeding the “Anti-Semites”; Israel and the counter parts in the US (APAC) are doing just fine.

I don’t get it- of the many crazy old rich people throwing their money at politicians, one happens to be Jewish. And this is newsworthy because? People are not blaming the Jews en masse? And the (false) conclusion therefore, is that antisemitism is in the past?

The existence of this quip itself is antisemtic, and makes the argument circular, since you’re calling attention the fact that people should consider it an antisemitic caricature. Imagine this donor was instead a Cuban tycoon, or Warrren Buffet, and you’ll see what I mean.

Well, it sounds like the Zionist neocons have done mankind a wonderful service,
in relieving North Americans of their barbaric Anti-Semitism (TM), (C)1967.
Huzzah! Is it the end of history now, Fukuyama?
