Prison-Industrial Complex Helped Write and Pass SB 1070Posted on Oct 31, 2010
An investigation by National Public Radio has found that prison companies that were set to make significant gains from the criminalization of immigrants helped write and pass Arizona’s controversial law SB 1070. The investigation claims that campaign finance reports, lobbying documents and corporate records show “a quiet, behind-the-scenes effort to help draft and pass Arizona Senate Bill 1070 by an industry that stands to benefit from it: the private prison industry.” Check out the NPR story here.

No surprise that these fat-cat for profit prisons helped write these laws. Like the Agri-corp did in writing laws, which our idiots in government signed into law against organic farms/farming a few years back, which also includes people of this country growing a few tomatoes plants in your own backyard because it cuts into their profits.
If you grow your own veggies will they come take us and lock us up in their for profit prisons? Seems that the only jobs left are going to war as cannon fodder for the riches entertain and gain-ment or be locked up for some offense to the rich companies that are trying to run every aspect of your life.
It is time to stop all the big corps from writing into law things to insure their ever growing profits over the best interest of the population. Welcome to the America(PNAC) the newest fascist/third world country in the world.

Hey, when your only major industries involve the making of war on both the world and your own population, don’t you think that they will also control the engines of government?

NPR is wrong, the State of Arizona dose not

Just a hit piece and not even worth the time it took

Why is this not a surprise? There’s profit to be made
Report thisin crime? There’s a whole corporate industry built up
around it? It provides jobs (code for profits)? No
wonder our courts don’t dispense justice! We can’t get
rid of crime, it provides law enforcement big-budget
job security. Crime is good for the GDP, after all.
It’s a matter of National Security, if you think about
it.

This is a nation of immigrants, and probably your relatives are or were immigrants not so long ago. Yet, in spite of the fact that becoming “legal” requires more time and money than need be, most of these immigrants are “illegal” not by choice but by factors beyond their control To open one’s mouth and defend such persons who are illegal against their own will or wishes, to speak against their arrest and abuse is to bring down on your head the wrath of over-defensive forces who are quite ready to feed the overweight prison/industrial complex which already confines behind bars an excess of innocent, helpless populations, thus enlarging its abusive and exploitative practices and its revenues at tax payers’ expense.
Report thisWhat gives? Is there nothing to be said for fairness and compassion? And what of a “free” country whose laws are written by jailors?
