There’s horse-race politics, but then there are also bona fide plot twists in the presidential campaign season, and we’re looking at one of them with the boost conservatives are giving Rick Santorum—yes, he of the sweater vest—as he and the formerly more confident Mitt Romney get ready for Arizona and Michigan primaries late this month.  —KA

Los Angeles Times:

A new CBS News/New York Times poll shows that Santorum now leads Romney 30%-27% among Republican primary voters nationwide. Romney’s standing is statistically unchanged, while Santorum has surged 14 points since a January survey, conducted between the New Hampshire and South Carolina primaries.

Newt Gingrich, who triumphed in South Carolina, has now dropped into fourth place with just 10% support, down from 21% last month. Ron Paul is just ahead of him at 12%, down from 15%.

Leefeller, oh, yeah.
I forgot the Homophobe tag.  My bad.

My point is that no matter who is nominated by the Repubs, personal attacks will be part of the game plan for Obama’s PACs.

Let’s review:

Romney: greedy, rich 1%er who likes firing people and torturing dogs. (Obamacare won’t be an issue)

Paul: senile crazy old fogie who was probably in the room when the Declaration was signed.

Gingrich: Hyprocritical philanderer (not acceptable unless Bill Clinton or a Kennedy), bully, racist, egotist.

Santorum: Sexist, homophobic, war-mongering religious zealot.

This comes right out of Saul Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals (#13).

Oddsox, From your post, I gather you feel Santorum dost not deserve personal attacks? As Santorum would strip women of their rights, continue his attack on gays in society and his GOPER attack on Obamacare saying it needs to be dumped, and not to mention his uncanny ability of wearing his religion on his sleeve. Clearly is denying the concept ‘separation of church and state’. Now I see Sanatorium as a despot and a religious fanatic, hence why I call him ‘Mandog’!

Or did I miss something from your post, if you support please provide reason why?

Lack of respect is said to be an indicator to despotism, along with unbalanced power, manipulated and controlled by the few.

Well, one thing about Santorum is he hasn’t gone negative yet.
He’s the only Repub candidate left who can claim that high ground.

He has only a ghost of a chance of gaining the nomination.
But vs. Obama one-on-one, Santorum might have that card to play against the big Obama PACs that are quietly gearing up for battle come August.
Might make it harder to come down too hard with the personal attacks like those we’re already seeing here on TruthDig (i.e. sexist, war mongering religious zealot.)

Yes ‘Santorum Rising’ has a ring to it, sort of like the ring in a bath tub!

You know Santorum has some good points, but for the life of me I cannot fantasize what they would be!

One thing Santorum has done for me, is I will always remember with fond memories the picture in me mind of Santorum on his dog!
