Rush Limbaugh’s ‘Straight Shooter’ Billboard in Tucson Taken Down

Email this item Email    Print this item Print    Share this item... Share

Posted on Jan 13, 2011

A spokesman for the shock jock’s syndicate says a Tucson, Ariz., billboard featuring Limbaugh’s name, the phrase “straight shooter” and bullet hole imagery was designed by a local station and removed after the shooting massacre that took place in that city.

Politico via the Huffington Post:

UPDATE: The billboard was removed on Monday, a spokeswoman for Limbaugh’s syndicator told POLITICO.

“The ad campaign was created by a local Tucson talk radio station to promote its broadcasts of Rush Limbaugh’s nationally syndicated radio program,’ said Rachel Nelson, PR manager for Premier Radio Networks. “This particular ad—which uses the common expression “straight shooter” to describe Mr. Limbaugh’s candid and direct style—was designed and contracted by the local station’s promotion department. In the wake of the tragic events that have unfolded in Tucson, the station elected to take down this ad on Monday, January 10 – believing that discussion of its interpretation would not contribute to the desire for healing in the Tucson community.”

Peter Knopfler, January 15 at 3:35 am,

Appears you have an accurate statement as to what the FOX News Network does, which is actually a military style propaganda tool used against the populace of, maybe not their own nation, but the nation they are living in, which is actually destroying our own country, and the destroyers call it free speech and get away with it.

Let us imagine that there really ARE such things as highly sophisticated PR campaigns that go awry on occasion.  How do they start, and how do they end?

Such campaigns ALWAYS BEGIN with an analysis of the undefined FORCES IN THE MIND of the target population.  Via highly controlled focus group analyses, the Undefined becomes Defined.

A sophisticated PR operation, FOX NEWS CHANNEL is one, has a complete analysis of these Forces. It MIGHT be a controlled distribution, 542 page, spiral bound notebook AND NEVER A COMPUTER FILE!

Once the natural Forces in the Target’s mind are defined, for example, “my culture is being polluted by immigrants”, then a Narrative can be applied to that Pollution Force that operationalizes it… makes it USEFUL for POLITICAL OPERATIONS.

A Narrative line might be, “immigrants are destroying the Concept of Christmas”.

As I drive this Narrative over the years, I condition the anger that is ALREADY in the Target’s mind. I CONDITION it so that this anger can be CONNECTED to OTHER Forces that ARE NOT in the Target’s mind… “Obama” for instance.

Obama is an Immigrant… ergo, Obama is “destroying” Christmas.

In this way I take natural, free floating anger, and shape and direct it. If this were a real story, it now has a fatal flaw… at least it would be fatal to anyone but a real PR professional… like say Mr. Roger Ailes.

^^^^^^The little flaw in this technique is that occasionally a disturbed gunman who is ultra-sensitive WILL BE DRIVEN OVER THE TOP TO MURDER. This is understood and accepted by the PR professional… these are “acceptable losses” to him.^^^^^^

A complete analysis of the Anger Forces for the United States Right Wing will cost a few hundred thousand dollars, and needs to be updated Quarterly via subscription. A top-of-the-line expert on the American middle class, Frank Luntz for example, will charge a Million.

If such campaigns really existed they would be very valuable to people who needed to MOBILIZE already angry Americans.  Such campaigns would be the pride and joy of great media owners. These campaigns might be the real POWER that such owners manifest….. no chaos, no chance, just STATISTICALLY ANALYZED FOCUS GROUPS WITH plus or minus 5 percent accuracy.

keep on blogging… your grandchild will be asking you what you DID for her when she was in grade school…. before they made her carry her permanent GPS smart-phone for HER counter-terrorism safety.

(correction on my last post) The American Populace, instead of 219 Million, is 216 Million strong, since there is 308 Million total population.  I meant 210 million of the 300 Million population, but it is actually 216 Million individual constituents of the American Populace that need to unify into a class and culture for representation as a class and culture equal with the other two classes and cultures, the Democratic Party’s Middle Class and the Republican Party’s Aristocracy, if the American Populace ever want to be actually represented in the Halls of Congress in the United States in the making and enforcing of legislated law and order.

SuperMike1661, January 15 at 2:41 am,

219 Million is strictly the American Populace, figured from a total of 300 Million. At least there are 219 Million individuals who do not have to be pushed around by monied corporate power if they will unite as a class and culture working united in their own class and cultural best interest, instead of the best interest of the American Middle Class and the American Aristocracy that are both united as class and cultures representing their own best interests separate from the best interests of the American Populace.

How does a typo make “308” into “219”? I can see the 2 and the 9, but the 1 and 0 are at opposite ends of the keyboard. No, MarthaA with her “populace” fetish is pretty much clueless.

And WHERE THE FUCK is Amanda?

It is our goal also to see Americans come together as one. However, the extremely potent Corporate PR program that has operated on the US electorate since the early 1980s, works very effectively along class lines.

I have before me a demographic analysis of the Rush Limbaugh “Excellence In Broadcasting” operation. This large company has a listener base that is 98% White, non-Hispanic.  The radio show is designed, so it says, “to be effective especially among high income marketing personnel”, Male, 29 to 40, (read salesmen).

My point is that sophisticated PR operations in the United States are ALWAYS “class” targeted… but it is called “demographics” because of the Marxist taint on the word “class”.

Note: i am sure it is a simple typo but current pop. US is approx. 308 M.

The majority population in the United States needs to forget about being divided into the middle classes as individuals without power, and unify as the one class and culture with power that they are, the American Populace 219,000,000 strong.

Recently a paid operative of the Corporate Media PR operation insisted to me that there is NO corporate conspiracy!  This sophomoric claim was launched with a School Boy’s enthusiasm and ...

It is so true! The truth of CORPORATE power is less obvious.

Like the Laws of Physics that bind an Electron to the Nucleus, the Corporation was OPENLY designed to ACT openly for its secret FUNDERS… who control it. Thus we see the true FUNDER-face of Goldman-GE and its Saudi Princeling Partners.

It IS the FUNDERS WHO CONSPIRE COVERTLY while their CORPORATE robots OPENLY manipulate political systems and entire populations… for the continuous enhancement of the FUNDER’S bottom-line.

More instructive is how outdated philosophies bind Corporate supporters TO the Robots.  The foolishly dependent Western Middle Classes are presently sentencing their children to centuries of servitude in competition with the Slaves of China. The corporate FUNDERS will grow evermore wealthy, as the Children of Western Middle Classes are so enslaved in competition with the FUNDER’S Chinese Corporate Robots. Thus do the Paid Supporters of Corporate Power sentence their progeny to dark centuries of servitude as foretold by George Orwell.

So we are witnessing the greatest Class-subversion in world history as the Western Middle Class subverts itself.

How many of you are selling your children’s future so that your Robot Employer can reimburse you at the end of the month?

The Positional Propaganda Game has stabilized.  Glenn, Sarah and Rush are pushed back on their heels, and will temporarily moderate.

HOWEVER, The Right and its FUNDERS, from Saudi Princes to Goldman-GE, are now ADDICTED to the political gains that they made in the last cycle by Incitement to Murder.  Because The Right’s FUNDERS are experiencing an ever-shrinking Base (white people mostly), they MUST continue to aggressively incite their diminishing forces. THIS MEANS MORE MURDERS… A CONTINUATION OF THE SLAUGHTER THAT BEGAN VIA THEIR INCITEMENT IN 2008. (someone please post the list of right-wing murders since 2008)

For the long run, the next 5 years, Progressive Forces in the West will have to tolerate these Wet Operations until we can reorganize and push Corporatist Power into the political gutter.  This will be a race to the finish: Can they enslave us, re 1984, before we contain their enormous power to subjugate and murder?

If THEY WIN we can look forward to Centuries of dark suppression re George Orwell… maybe Millennia.

We need to

1. URGENTLY restructure our ideology, including a bond with the AntiCorp forces of the Right.

2. Aggressively compensate for the Corporate Media’s FAILER-TO-REPORT the ongoing slaughter of Progressive People.  Keep publishing and building the Murder List.

years ago, one day I turned on the TV and Rush Limbaugh was on. As I watched trying to figure out what I was seeing and hearing I decided that I had tuned into a rerun of Saturday Night Live or something similar and I had a few laughs. As the show progresses I realized that it was a real show and what I thought was a parody was in fact what this person was passing off as truth. I no longer laughed but watched in horror as he spewed lies and outright hate. That day I quit being a republican and have never associated myself with them again. This was during Bill Clinton’s era.I NEVER watched Rush again and never intend to give him any attention. The one time I listened, I thought he was a joke now I find him frightening and a menace to society!!!!!

in custom and nature the taint cannot be ignored. All the great despotisms of

to deal with potential trouble - recognized that the families of objectionable
citizens were a continuing threat. In Stalin’s penal code it was a crime to be the
wife or child of an ‘enemy of the people.’ The Nazis used the same principle,
which they called Sippenhaft, ‘clan liability.’ In Imperial China, enemies of the
state were punished ‘to the ninth degree’: that is, everyone in the offender’s

great-grandchildren, would also be killed.”

Removing the sign for the reasons put forward by the syndicator is quite out of line. In effect it does nothing to detract from the solemnity of the Tuscon period of morning.

Notwithstanding, it should have been taken down for it’s mischaracterization of Rush Limbaugh himself. He’s a sensatonalist, and a purveyor of political misdirection.

All part of the campaign to try to convince everyone the shooter was a “lone gunman” and not what he is: A home-grown American terrorist.

Because we all know where the responsibility for home-grown American terrorists lays—at the doors of Limbaugh, Palin, O’Reilly, Angle, and the rest.

hello. the armed forces are more interested in mind

I used to listen to Limbaugh and other AM hate radio programs all day while out on the road. They kept me agitated enough I was able to put in 10-12 hour days out cold-calling.

I can never forget the day he said “They ought to go up there in the Pacific Northwest and just cut all those trees down. They’re just going to burn anyway.”

I’ve read James K. Agee ( Fire Ecology of Pacific Northwest Forests ), and other works on landscape management by means of fire, and I’m convinced that there are ( and have been historically ) catastrophic stand-replacement events of enormous scale. That notwithstanding, I’ve seen nothing to indicate that a simplistic management strategy such as Limbaugh suggests would in any way have any positive impact on these natural cycles.
That he would suggest something of this nature, whether as facetiousness or simply hyperbole, clearly demonstrates his complete lack of understanding of silvicultural science, and ( worse ) his total disregard ( or again, complete lack of understanding ) for balanced ecosystems.

This one tiny episode of Limbaugh’s never-ending tirade should in and of itself be clearly indicative that the man has a brain of papier mache’.

The problem is not so much that Limbaugh pretends to be an expert on all things. The greater problem is that the great majority of his listeners actually believe what he says.
