Report: Obama Will Extend Afghanistan Deadline

U.S. Air Force / Tech. Sgt. Efren Lopez

The White House is pushing back against a McClatchy report that the administration plans to delay the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan from the previously announced July 2011 deadline to some time in 2014.

You can read how the White House responded to the report over at Politico. Below, an excerpt of the article that set the spin cycle in motion.

McClatchy News Service:

The Obama administration has decided to begin publicly walking away from what it once touted as key deadlines in the war in Afghanistan in an effort to deemphasize President Barack Obama’s pledge that he would begin withdrawing U.S. forces in July 2011, administration and military officials have told McClatchy News Service.

The new policy will be on display next week during a conference of NATO countries in Lisbon, Portugal, where the administration hopes to introduce a timeline that calls for the withdrawal of U.S. and NATO forces from Afghanistan by 2014, the year when Afghan President Hamid Karzai once said Afghan troops could provide their own security, three senior officials told McClatchy, along with others speaking anonymously as a matter of policy.

This establishes without a doubt that Obama is NOT a socalist liberal but only a Rep in Liberal clothing - he is a fraud and voters have been shamelessly cheated.

once again, I’ll point out: here, vis-à-vis these bloody heinous wars, the commentary runs at about 10%
what it does when the topic is the ‘Tea Party,’ ‘Glen Beck,’  his foil du jour the ‘New Black Panther Party’ or
old George Bush - most useful-fool POTUS of all time - to those blogs the dupes are drawn like flies to vent
their anger or defend their icons

clearly these psyops and memes work - they’re rolled out steadily day after day: either an embarrassingly
transparent flase flag (e.g. toner bombs), some outrageous challenge (e.g. New Black Panther leader on
the air telling Beck’s followers his gang is “ready to rumble” - almost comical) or the best of all: yet
another tape from the immortal legend: Osama Bin Laden

recently TD ran this: Posted on Nov 9, 2010

White House / Paul Morse
In his new memoir, George W. Bush claims that information obtained by waterboarding Khalid Sheikh
Mohammad 183 times helped foil plots to attack targets in the United Kingdom. British intelligence and
Cabinet officials—Labor and Conservative alike—beg to differ.

thereby prompting one more round of debate on the ‘value’ of ‘torture’ (sic.) which charged on without a
hitch, even after I was quick to point out:

Khalid Sheikh Mohammad is dead

The patsy perp, water-boarded 183 times, is the central prop in the dog-and-pony show trial to further
fuel the phony Global War of Terror - not that there ain’t enough terror to go around, it just ain’t what
we’re being made to think it is.

A chilling inheritance of terror
By Syed Saleem Shahzad

KARACHI - (excerpts)

Ever since the frenzied shootout last month on September 11 in Karachi there have been doubts over
whether Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed head of al-Qaeda’s military committee, died in
the police raid on his apartment.

Now it has emerged that Kuwaiti national Khalid Shaikh Mohammed did indeed perish in the raid, but his wife and child were taken from the apartment and handed over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in whose hands they remain.

Initially, the joint ISI-FBI plan was to take Shaikh Mohammed alive so that he could be grilled, especially as he was believed to have knowledge of other al- Qaeda cells in Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen and elsewhere. However, as a plainclothed officer climbed the stairs toward the third-floor apartment, a hand grenade was thrown, and he retreated. Reinforcements then arrived, and for the next few hours a fierce gun battle blazed.

The FBI, still keen to take Shaikh Mohammed alive, teargassed the area, and a number of people were captured. However, despite instructions to the contrary, a few Pakistan Rangers entered the flat, where they found Shaikh Mohammed and another man, allegedly with their hands up. The Rangers nevertheless opened fire on the pair.

those sharing this thread, I’m pretty sure, get it - that more here don’t is beyond comprehension… that
is unless they’re ‘on assignment’ - the consistency of some positions strongly suggest it

de profundis clamavi:

Ipso facto, ad infinitum. Or something of that sort, ad redundancy, ad nauseum.

Poseurs aside by yet another monkier—I enjoy your humor here—we both knew who our enemies were under the regime of Bush & Cheney.

We all got educated in a hurry with respect to the current scumbag in the White House. Even those who say they perceived him as centrist from the beginning could not have begun to guess the depths to which he would sink.

I’m also fine with the Republican victory at midterms. It seriously clipped the wings of the Dems, and by 2012, the electorate will probably revile both parties and be unwilling to vote for either.

It will either guaratntee a Tea Party victory (imagine someone like Sarah Palin with the nuclear access codes and a Secretary of Communications Glenn Beck) or the progressives will have to create a third party well-before 2012.

While I’m not expecting the latter to even get to chrysalis-stage, one can always hope. Too bad “progressive” (sic) pundits like Mr. Scheer or Ms. Huffington don’t really seem to give a damned.

Why is the Obama administration making plans for 2014? Obama is not going to be president after January 31, 2013.

I contributed and volunteered for Obama’s presidential campaign and voted for him. Since he was elected, he has consistently sold out his base in a futile quest to capture the “center” of American politics, a mythical kingdom that exists nowhere but in the highly conventional imaginations of Washington career Democrats. He might as well dedicate the rest of his presidency to the quest for the Holy Grail. I, however, will not be following him there.

The White House announcement that they will cave in on extending the Bush tax cuts for the top 2% is the last straw. I am finished with Obama. I intend to do just as much to prevent Obama from getting re-elected in 2012 as I did to get him elected in 2008, and I don’t care if the result is another Republican president.

As far as I am concerned, Obama is worse than a Republican president because he has destroyed the people’s hope that the American political process might still be capable of governing on behalf of the people instead of Wall Street, the Pentagon and the military contractors. Now we know there is no hope except to bring down the corporate state through mass boycotts and civil disobedience.

Hardly a surprise. Once America has boots on the ground in a country - be it friendly to America or not - it never, ever leaves. Yet again, the world sees that America’s promises are not to be taken seriously.
