Rebekah Brooks Faces Phone Hacking ChargesPosted on Jul 24, 2012
British authorities have decided to try eight people in the case of gutter journalism gone terribly wrong (or wrong-er). They include the woman who ran Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper empire in the U.K. and Andy Coulson, who was editor of News of the World from 2003 until 2007 and then Prime Minister David Cameron’s communications director until 2011. The list is rounded out by other editors, a reporter and a private investigator. The phone hacking scandal that has continued to haunt Murdoch erupted when journalists at his U.K. papers were accused of bribery and hacking into the voice mail systems of murdered innocents.
