Rape Comment Sinks Indiana GOP Senate Candidate Richard MourdockPosted on Nov 6, 2012Indiana Republican Richard Mourdock, whose candidacy lost traction after he said pregnancy resulting from rape was “something God intended to happen,” has lost his bid for the U.S. Senate to Democrat Joe Donnelly.
Donnelly’s victory flips the Indiana seat to the Democrats, as the tea party-backed Mourdock defeated incumbent Sen. Richard Lugar in the Republican primary.
