Student Groups to Meet With Quebec’s GovernmentPosted on May 28, 2012
Student groups in Quebec are scheduled to meet with the province’s education minister to resume negotiations over tuition hikes that have provoked more than 100 days of sustained protest. The president of FEUQ, the largest student group involved in the talks, predicts the negotiations could put an end to the student strikes. Some student groups have demanded a tuition freeze while others appear to be willing to accept a compromise of lower tuition increases. —ARK
