Prosecutors Are Expected to Drop Strauss-Kahn ChargesPosted on Aug 21, 2011
Multiple sources are reporting that at a hearing Tuesday prosecutors are likely to drop some or all of the charges against former IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who is accused of attempting to rape a maid at a New York hotel. The alleged victim’s credibility has been called into question, and the district attorney’s office may feel unable to win a conviction as a result. The 32-year-old housekeeper is pursuing her own civil case against Strauss-Kahn, who was, until his arrest, a strong contender for the presidency of his native France. —PZS

Your comment tells me little about America and far, far too much about you.

Why is Truthdig ‘digging’ from the New York Post? Is that supposed to be the truth? Anyone who cares about the real goings on in this fascinating case should read the account by Pam Martens here http://www.counterpunch.org/martens08082011.html. She has documented the FACTS of this case since the beginning.
Yes there was/is a smear campaign against the victim originally started in your favorite smear rag the NYT.
Sadly and very disappointing, this smear job is repeated and continued here in Truthdig - a publication whose separation from the propaganda machine is weary and thin.
I suggest to Truthdig if you don’t have any real, good stories - then pare it down to what you do have. Which isn’t much lately.

Those who are “shocked” still ,in my opinion, fail to grasp how thoroughly we are dominated by the wealthy and powerful.
