For presidential hopefuls, surely this is an unmistakable sign of impending apocalypse: GOP contender Newt Gingrich, who was not so long ago enjoying an improbable—and ultimately ephemeral—streak of campaign success, now finds himself free of those pesky embedded print reporters, as of late last week.  —KA


The last two print reporters covering Gingrich full-time on the trail—from POLITICO and the Atlanta Journal Constitution—pulled out on Friday.

Well this is bad news to Gingrich , but it is good news to all his opponents. Perhaps there is a deeper meaning to the exit of the press, which might signal that there is something about Gingrich that those in the media do not want to support.
