Poland’s acting President Bronislaw Komorowski is holding strong in the run-up to the runoff election to replace the late President Lech Kaczynski on July 4, but, after Polish voters cast their ballots in the first go-round of voting Sunday, it looks as if Kaczynski’s twin brother Jaroslaw poses a sizable challenge. —KA

I’d like to stake at Komorowski’ victory rather than this

all these anti-Russian talks, constant tensions with
the previously friendly EU neighbors and the economic
failures of the government. Jaroslaw is seemingly about
to sing good ole “Fourth Republic song” —
