Terry Jones, second from left, set off a deadly string of events by burning a copy of the Quran in Florida on March 20.

Pastor Terry Jones, whose supervision of a Quran burning touched off deadly riots in Afghanistan early this month, has set his sights on a mosque in Dearborn, Mich. A judge has barred Jones from the mosque’s property, and he now plans to protest in front of it.  —KDG

Detroit Free Press

Jones had wanted to protest Friday against jihad and sharia outside the Islamic Center on Friday, but was thwarted by authorities. The center is the largest mosque in metro Detroit, a region with a sizable Muslim population.

On Friday, Judge Mark Somers ordered that Jones and Pastor Wayne Sapp be remanded to jail after a jury determined they would be likely to breach the peace. In his decision Judge Somers set a $1 cash bond for Jones and Sapp, and also said Jones and Sapp could not go to the mosque or adjacent property for three years.

That’s a very good point John M. It looks like this story will be continued next week, probably with Jones behind bars.

overlooked this one (cited below) - top of linked page - proves Florida pastor Terry Jones
is a useful fool of a schlemiel - note to so-called progressives: do not get sucked into
spending activist energy on characters like this - it’s all theatre, designed to distract from
the real criminals:  the Global Finance Oligarchy, those directing the Global War of Terror
- the goal: keep under classes fighting over nonsense like this

Dr. Terry Jones, leader of the Dove World Outreach Center
Just when you thought the sad saga of Quran-burning Florida pastor Terry Jones couldn’t
get more absurd…

According to Southfield, Michigan police, Jones’ .40-caliber handgun fired accidentally as
he was leaving a television studio there on Thursday night. This is presumably the same
handgun he said he intended to bring to his planned anti-sharia law protest in Dearborn,
Michigan on Friday, though he’s said he’s come to Dearborn “totally in peace.”

Jones has been arrested for violating Dearborn’s “Free Speech Zone” policy, which restricts the expression of unpopular ideas to four designated areas within Dearborn.  That’s the real story—at least the ACLU thinks so—but in typical Truthdig fashion it’s gotten nary a mention here.

This idiot needs a shock bracelet to keep him in Florida where he belongs along
with the other Gator’s and Snakes!
He’s on shaky turf in Detroit - In the good ole days it only cost about $20 bucks
to have somebody topped and I’m sure there are plenty takers still hangin in the
hoods!
The judge should have just had him transported downtown and dropped him of.
Problem solved!

from the article: Jones said he intends to keep on speaking about what he
sees as the threat of Islamic extremism. He worries that it might come to the
U.S., which was why he came to Dearborn. He said he lived in Europe and saw
first-hand the growing influence there of radical Islam.

sounds like an agent provocateur - his mission (assignment)
appears to be working up latent bigots toward violence against muslims e.g.

FBI, Everyone Else Trying To Convince Jones Not To Burn Korans
Rachel Slajda | September 9, 2010, 1:30PM

Dr. Terry Jones, leader of the Dove World Outreach Center
MSNBC and CNN are reporting this afternoon that FBI agents have visited Dove
World Outreach Center pastor Terry Jones.

Details were sketchy, but MSNBC reported they were there as part of security
measures.

A spokeswoman for the Gainesville Police Department told TPMmuckraker that
the department has been working with state and federal agencies on security
and has been preparing for Saturday’s “Burn A Koran Day” for more than a
month.

could as likely be that the FBI showed up to ‘manage’ the operation… the flip-
side: Islamic provocateurs… e.g.

California Muslims reported FBI provocateur ... to the FBI
Monday, December 6, 2010

An FBI informer sent to infiltrate a California mosque was made the subject of a
restraining order after scaring Muslim worshippers with demands for holy war.

Craig Monteilh was known to members of the Irvine Islamic Center as Farouk
al-Aziz, an apparently devout and at times over-zealous Muslim. But when he
began speaking of jihad and plans to blow up buildings, senior figures at the
mosque reported him the FBI – the very people who sent him. Now the FBI is
facing criticism for its use of such stooges which have backfired in a number of
cases.

Sticky territory:
If the President says you are guilty before you are
tried, the Red Queen is in charge of the game.
If a judge says (as reported): “On Friday, Judge Mark Somers ordered that Jones and Pastor Wayne Sapp be remanded to jail after a jury determined they would be likely to breach the peace,”  you are guilty if you are “likely” to break the peace!  Get it?  You haven’t actually broken it yet, but ... a jury has determined that you are thinking about it.  (How about another game of cards?  No?  Why not? Off with your head!)
Pastor Jones and Pastor Sapp may be lost out in left field, but where’s the President when we need him? And who’s on first?

Strange, he can’t protest in front of a mosque but a
church can protest at the funeral of a fallen marine
according to the supreme court. Mosques have special
protection?

Modern hi-tech war is essentially and at its heart cowardly. Americans (mainly) from a thousand miles away can file drones and missiles to kill non-American people without risking loss of American lives.  They could even kill American people without the risk of loss of lives among the weapons’ manipulators. This kind of activity is psychologically sick—sanctioned murder by bullies.

U.S. reportably ‘gives up’ drone base???

More like kicked out and rightfully so.

Those darn fixed drone bases are sure pesky places to maintain, especially since the drones are off slaughtering wedding parties and kids playing football and lots of others civilians ‘mistaken’ for ‘terrorists’ on their missions. But not to worry, the US military command is on top of the problem, and is taking prompt corrective actions.

First, the Joint Chiefs are finally following-up on the long-delayed suggestion that all drone operators be given vision tests, and those whose vision cannot be corrected to enable them to pass the test of hitting the Pentagon with a dead dog while swinging it by the tail and standing ten feet away from the building, be immediately taken off drone-operator duty and reassigned as cyber-spies.

Secondly, the Pentagon is doubling the funds available to the consortium of MIC corporations assigned to the ‘Mother Ships’ top secret program, which is tasked to deliver a flying bases for drones, to enable drones to operate anywhere around the globe 24/7/364 (taking ‘Earth Day’ off). The Mother Ships will render fixed drone bases obsolete, so that drone wars of the future can be carried out anywhere, against friends or foes, with the victims being unaware of the location or identity of their attacker, and, or course, having no means of retaliation for any ‘unfortunate atrocities’ that may occur.

By golly, we keep practicing, one of these days we’re gonna get this ‘War’ thing down pat.
