A man lies wounded after an attack on a large crowd in northwest Pakistan.

In apparent response to a Pakistani military action that killed some 40 rebels, a suicide bomber in Pakistan has killed at least 43 people in an attack on a mass of people receiving aid in the northwest town of Khar. —JCL

The BBC:

A female suicide bomber has killed at least 43 people in an attack on a large crowd receiving aid in north-west Pakistan, officials say.

The blast took place in the town of Khar in the Bajaur region, in tribal areas close to the Afghan border—a Taliban and al-Qaeda stronghold.

People displaced by fighting had been getting food at a distribution centre.

They blew up dirt poor people trying to get some food. There’s nothing noble in causing suffering in dirt poor refugees.

You are right, but the whack-fringe far-left here at Truthdig gives an automatic pass to Islamic terrorists, because, you know, it’s always someone else’s fault - especially Zionists and Americans.

“Pakistani military action” my ass!  This is a
protest against US actions and the US War of Terror
if it is anything.  That the strike was against the
US proxy is of little import, but being reported this
way does deflect attention from the real source of
Pakistani civilian deaths and other multiple war
crimes: the US military-industrial complex (war
profiteers), the Department of State and CIA/NSA
shadow government, and the White House.  The only
thing that is “apparent” is that the US has been
conducting illegal wars based on lies for decades,
and that the US press will continue to repeat those
lies that cover them up or those that attempt to
justify them as the gospel truth.

Two of the casualties of the US War of Terror is the
credibility of government pronouncements and the US
corporate press: only a fool takes either one of them
seriously anymore.
