White House/Pete Souza

Vice President Joe Biden and President Barack Obama share a high-five.

Barack Obama will serve a second term in office, winning the desperately contested battleground state of Ohio, with Florida still too close to call as of this posting.

Obama overcame a last-minute crush of advertising, voting machine shenanigans and bad weather to achieve victory.

Obama will still have to work with a divided Congress. As of this posting, it appears that the Senate will remain in the hands of the Democrats, while the Republicans retain control of the House.

Stay posted for further analysis and expectations, and thanks for sticking with our coverage all night.
