U.S. Halts Deportation of Young Illegal ImmigrantsPosted on Jun 15, 2012
In a bold stroke, the Obama administration has ordered an end to deportations of young undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children. The order also allows those with no criminal history to seek work permits. The decision could affect 800,000 immigrants under 30 years old, mostly Hispanics. By fall of 2011, Obama had already deported or detained more immigrants during his first term as president than Bush did in his entire presidency. —Posted by Alexander Reed Kelly
