Responding to criticism from Republicans for supposedly stonewalling development of the nation’s oil supplies, President Obama has ordered the government to accelerate work on a 485-mile Texas-to-Oklahoma portion of the recently rejected 1,170-mile Keystone XL pipeline. —ARK

AP via The Guardian:

Facing fresh criticism from Republicans who blame him for gas prices near $4 a gallon, Obama announced Thursday that he was directing federal agencies to expedite a 485-mile line from Oklahoma to refineries on Texas’ Gulf Coast that would remove a critical bottleneck in the country’s oil transportation system. The directive would also apply to other pipelines that alleviate choke points.

Obama’s re-election strategy seems to be aimed at leading the Tea Party to take the USA to where Germany was in the early 1930s.

Never noticing how that German experiment ended, we must not allow ourselves to believe we would not repeat the stupidity, especially if it follows along behind the most charming, if also the most deceptive, public speaker to have emerged in a century and a half.

Only, it might be helpful if we can also remember the Lincoln was in no way deceptive.  He never flinched from his core commitment to saving the union.

Obama has no core, and all his commitments are to the loudest Obama-haters.  Never mind what direction that takes the nation.

If anyone thought Obama was not going to give his ok to build the pipeline after he “suckered” Liberals into reelecting him, I got some swamp land I would like to sale you!

Why build the southern part of a pipeline if you don’t plan to connect to the source? Face it boys and girls, we have been fooled again.

I was in Chandler today with friends from the Indigenous Environmental Network.  It was pathetically amusing watching this corporate whore nearly break his arm patting himself on the back for the big wet kiss on the ass he was giving the API.
