Obama Contains His Optimism About BP’s Latest Cap Trick

Obama
bbc.co.uk

“It is important we don’t get ahead of ourselves,” President Obama said Friday as he weighed in on BP’s latest attempt at containing the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill with a “larger, more sophisticated cap.” Though this new device may seem to be doing the job for now, the president put the kibosh on any premature back-slapping by sounding a warning: “One of the problems with having this camera down there is, is that when the oil stops gushing, everybody feels like we’re done,” he said, “and we’re not.”  —KA

BBC:

A new cap was used on Thursday to stop the flow for the first time since 20 April, as part of a 48-hour test of the well’s integrity.

Eleven workers were killed in the Deepwater Horizon explosion, and the oil spill has raised fears of an environmental catastrophe.

Spilled oil has affected hundreds of miles of Gulf coastline since April, with serious economic damage to the region.

“Say bye bye to the Gulf of Mexico.”

Say bye-bye to corporate shill Obama. Whatta dud HE turned out to be, notwithstanding the over-ballyhooed “black” birthday suit and his hothouse self-regard.

Here’s something from Dahr Jamail:
““I find it interesting that [Thad Allen], BP and President Obama have all cited this capacity to collect up to 80,000 barrels of oil per day, despite the fact that the high-end government estimate of daily flow is 60,000 barrels.”

I’d like to see Obama schwack $100 billion off the defense budget and finance plans to clean the oceans and attack the great Pacific and Atlantic garbage patches.

I interpret mainstream news….that is just what
one has to do,,,I have been pretty successul at this.
I have been doing forever, I believe since high shcool.

Which brings me to how I feel about the major news
media havig that oil expert, Simmons, on the air several
times during this disaster and making his name well known.
The mainstream media has had few others on news for
for comment about this disaster in the Gulf, maybe one
oceanographer in all this time,  I have heard little about
other geologists brought in for their thoughts. Few other
experts if any.  There have been several ecologist , but
the media had to be there on this once or twice to keep
any credence at all.
Back to Simmons, why him? And what is he saying?
He tells us everytime that there has to be another leak
somewhere and a couple of other not so nice scenarios.
I have my thoughts just why he is the one that the
mainstream media is giving a little air time.

What was kind of disturbing,  is the little line he let
out right after this last top kill on MSNBC.
“There are really a lot of rumors around the oil industry
of this being a Green Movement terrorist act to bring
attention to the environment.”

Why was that slipped in there???????????????????????????
Especially as it is just speculation with no evidence to
support this thought..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I interpret mainstream news,  and I am damn good at it!!

The well bore is compromised. That whiz-bang “cap” won’t hold pressure. This is
bad juju. Say bye bye to the Gulf of Mexico. From this day forward, we can call it
the Gulf of Toxico.
