Nominate Our Next Truthdigger of the WeekPosted on Nov 21, 2011
Who made your week by speaking truth to power, blowing the whistle or standing up to injustice? Truthdigger of the Week is a feature in which we recognize a person or group that made a difference. See past winners here. Nominate this week’s winner here. Last week, we recognized Dorli Rainey, 84, who faced off with police at Occupy Seattle and got a faceful of pepper spray. In case you missed the viral photos of Rainey recovering from her run-in with the SPD, we published an excerpt from the “Democracy Now!” broadcast that showed those stills, along with a substantial and very savvy interview with the retired schoolteacher and activist. “It is getting progressively worse,” she says, “our freedoms are getting curtailed.” Advertisement Previous item: CIA Takes a Big Hit in Lebanon Next item: Egypt’s Civilian Government Offers to Step Down New and Improved CommentsIf you have trouble leaving a comment, review this help page. Then there is always Seymour Hersh, and his investigative report is certainly more than worthy of the honor, but I would still go with the Egyptians if not the continued and awe-inspiring fight and plight if the Arab Spring in general. Congratulations to the people of Yemen!!!

The Egyptian youths/supporters who have been struggling against huge odds in order to protect their peaceful revolution from theft by the remnants of the corrupt old guards of Husney Mubarak’s regime.
The tenacity and determination of the youths of Egypt is most admirable.
It looks like that the ground of “Tahrir Square”,in the middle of Cairo,is going to be flooded by human blood all over again. According to several reports, more than 30 demonstrators have already been killed across Egypt: in Cairo,Alexanderia,Munsoura and Suez City, since last Friday-that is only in three days of demonstration.
