Nominate Our Next Truthdigger of the WeekPosted on Nov 1, 2011
Who made your week by speaking truth to power, blowing the whistle or standing up to injustice? Truthdigger of the Week is a feature in which we recognize a person or group that made a difference. See past winners here. Nominate this week’s winner here. Last time, we recognized author and feminist Naomi Wolf, whose dedication to helping OWS protesters understand and exercise their rights got her arrested outside a private, black-tie event. Our honorable mention went to Marine Sgt. Shamar Thomas, who was caught on video telling off New York police officers for being overly forceful with peaceful protesters. I second the ASSHOLE nomination. The air on Broadway & 14th in Oakland went
cold within moments of their arrival.
Dementors. Is anyone looking into who they really are?

I nominate pdxjustice Media Productions making the following video available to view online:
Rami G. Khouri - Diplomatic Stalemate and Democratic Revolts: Making Sense of a Middle East Transition, Oct. 20, 2011.
Editor-at-Large of Beirut’s Daily Star newspaper, columnist and journalist, Rami G. Khouri, talks about the uprisings sweeping across the Middle East and the declining role of the United States in the region.

There is also an extensive and illuminating question & answer session.
AND for ASSHOLE’s of the week, I nominate the black clad scarf-wearing “anarchists” in Oakland and wherever else they may turn up, which are really just a bunch of vandals seeking to discredit and destroy the Occupy movement.

I nominate IMax, both for his showing that the opposition is really weak and also not very bright.
