Isn’t it obvious? Bradley Manning has suffered solitary confinement and torture for the past ten months, with no end in sight, for his release of information about our unaccoutable military machine. If he were Cuban or Chinese, our press would be hailing him as a hero and calling for his release. This is how low we have sunk as a nation; shame on all of us that are still capable of feeling shame.

Julian Assange, and he should remain The Truthdigger of the week until he is free of all the harassing charges against him, and free to continue leaking all over the powers-that-be.

PJ Crowley is a good choice and so is Julian Assange. But it’s Bradley Manning who needs the most support just now, so I nominate him.

Julian Assange recently appeared via video link on a show called Q&A in Australia and asked the Australian Prime Minister why, since Wikileaks had intelligence that the Australian government has been leaking information to the US government on Australians who work for Wikileaks, should the Australian people not charge her with treason. Speaking truth to power doesn’t get any blunter than that, so I nominate Assange.
