The backlash against Planned Parenthood continues, and anti-abortion advocates have emerged victorious in New Hampshire, where the state’s executive council has dropped funding for the reproductive health organization, specifically cutting off subsidies for contraception such as birth control pills. This all makes a lot of sense.  —KA

Reuters:

Planned Parenthood has stopped providing birth control pills and other contraception in New Hampshire after the state’s executive council rejected up to $1.8 million in funding for the group, which also provides privately-funded abortions.

The move is expected to affect an average of 120 low-income women each day. Other services provided by Planned Parenthood, including pelvic exams, were also in peril.

... “I am opposed to abortion,” said Raymond Wieczorek, a council member who voted against the contract. “I am opposed to providing condoms to someone. If you want to have a party, have a party but don’t ask me to pay for it.”

Less access to birth control will INCREASE abortions, the amount of people on welfare, and child poverty.  It will also increase the amount of children that are abused. The percentage of children abused might remain the same, but because more unwanted children will be born, the individual numbers will rise. Hmmmmm….doesn’t sound pro life to me. I guess life only matters before birth. After that, not so much.

How is person A’s coitus the financial responsibility of person B?

How is person B financially responsible for person’s A’s murdering of a fetus?

If I shoot my neighbor’s dog are you financially liable and will you have to serve any time sentenced?

This just goes to show what big liars the conservatives are—they say they’re against abortion, but they take away a very effective method of preventing pregnancy!

They don’t hate abortion…they hate sexually active women who control their own bodies.

How do we elect such ignoramuses?  The taxpayers WILL have to pay for these unwanted kids through all sorts of public assistance programs.  But some people (especially Republicans) pay no attention to facts.

Has anyone figured this out yet. This move is designed to limit access to all birth control along with abortions for white women. Supporters of reproductive services are mostly white women. Opponents of abortion and birth control are basically white men. They are so afraid of losing the white majority that white women can’t even have access to birth control let alone an abortion. They don’t care about Black or Hispanic women having abortions.Even the racist Bill Bennett said if all black babies were aborted, crime would go down. These extremists will next attempt to make birth control illegal. They want their country back. Back to the days of white women having five or more children. Back to the days of back alley clothes hangar abortions. Back to the days of arresting and prosecutions of women and doctors who have what is a legal medical procedure. Back to the days of guilt and shame to keep white women from have a choice on reproductive services. Abortion is so restrictive in the south and midwest that it is practically illegal anyway. They want their country back. Back to 1860!
