As if any doubt remained as to News Corp. titan Rupert Murdoch’s political proclivities, we have hard monetary evidence in the form of the media megacorp’s newly committed $1 million donation to the Republican Governors Association. However, as one of News Corp.‘s alert spokespersons has pointed out, the editorial and business sides of the conglomerate are not one and the same! Of course not.  —KA

The New York Times:

The contribution from Mr. Murdoch’s News Corporation, which owns Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post and other news outlets, is one of the biggest ever given by a media organization, campaign finance experts said.

[...] “News Corp. has always believed in the power of free markets, and organizations like the R.G.A., which have a pro-business agenda, support our priorities at this most critical time for our economy,” said Jack Horner, a company spokesman.

Mr. Horner said that the company’s corporate side made the donation with no involvement by its news operation and that the gift would not have any impact on newsgathering operations. “There is a strict wall between business and editorial,” he added.

As the Titanic sinks the people are Foxed to not worry. Just “go shopping” and be
happy - but it is okay to hate those damn Liberals too.

Never mind about the money: just look at the stories his newspapers carry and what they say on Fox. And if you don’t believe they are simply bully pulpits for Murdoch’s completely warped view of the world and his support for ultra conservative politicians in his favourite party, the Republican Party, take another look at ‘Outfoxed’. In that doco various FOX JOURNALISTS themselves talk about how Murdoch would actually send a memo every day about what was going to be covered that day and how it would be covered. Any journalist who couldn’t stomach this ‘Pravda’ style manipulation of information simply had to leave because Murdoch is an autocrat and a zealot who simply cannot bear to be contradicted or crossed. His massive control of the mainstream media is disgraceful (just like Berlusconi’s in Italy) and toxic, whoever he chooses to buy with his money. And it was one of his papers that picked up on the ‘mosque’ story after a vicious anti Muslim blogger named Geller started the ball rolling. When you consider that there’s even a mosque in the Pentagon where Muslims have been peacefully and unobtrusively worshipping for many years you can see how absolutely deceitful and grotesque this politically motivated, whipped up hysteria really is. Once again America looks dumb, intolerant and out of control. Not a good look.

My new theory about Murdoch, is that he really just wants to see the US destroy itself from
within. It’s quite a brilliant methodology he has embraced with respect to assisting us.

Until now, the News Corp./Fox political action committee had given 54 percent of its donations to Democrats and 46 percent to Republicans, according to the Center for Responsive Politics—including $8,000 to Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid’s campaign committee and $5,000 to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s organization. News Corp. also gave $45,000 each to GOP and Democratic campaign committees on Capitol Hill.

Why no outrage until Republicans got more money than Dems?

With Gollum on their side the GOP will be locked and loaded for the dummy show.

All you people who do not like family values should beware.
