Soon we’ll have to fly naked handcuffed and ankle-cuffed to our seats—yet flying takes longer and longer.

It’s no longer worth it to fly from DC to NY because the delays getting on the plane added to the flight time are now not much better than Amtrak.  For a while there were people who could actually commute between the two cities by air.  Not anymore.

And why?  They fail repeatedly to catch test “flyers” with guns and weapons by their intrusive searches and metal detectors.  They’ll take a nail clipper from you but ANY person trained in martial arts or unarmed combat is far more dangerous than an untrained person with a nail clipper.

Last time I flew I had a choice of the intrusive pat-down or the full body scan.  I took the latter.  If they don’t like what they see, if they find my middle-aged body offensive, I don’t have to see or know about it.

But who have they actually stopped?  What ever happened to explosive-sniffing dogs?  I’m sure they can be trained to smell gun oil and gun powder.  Do you need more?

On the other hand, the really heroic thing to do would be to have MASS DISOBEDIENCE, and make them file CRIMINAL CHARGES against you.

Would American juries really convict their fellow citizens for refusing a porno-scan or grope? Have we descended that far from once-proud individualists to bleating sheep?

The sad fact is that the American people have to put up with this, regardless of whether we get a Democratic or Republican regime.

I suggest we get creative about ways to make this outrage stand out. Perhaps a tactic should be to elect for the grope over the porno-scan, but make sure you moan loudly in pseudo-orgasm while they grope you.

Make them uncomfortable. Humiliate THEM; don’t let them humiliate YOU.

Anyone else have some peaceful resistance ideas?

Like all government agencies, the DHS is obsessed with not failing and will go to any extreme to prevent a terrorist incident no matter how small.  Remember, any incident that results in an innocent person being hurt will reflect poorly on the current administration and depending on timing could influence an election.  Bush II is fortunate 9/11 happened early in his presidency otherwise he would have had no time for “correction.”

Wait, is it just me? I see another body reflection within the image. Is it this person’s soul? Is it a double image? Just who does this junk belong to? I see a profile but I also see a straight-ahead image as well. I must say this guy is out of shape. Is there anyway we can be safe aboard the plane if we are supplanted with “ghosts” among us. I see nothing but doom. I will say this, if hair isn’t detectable I think we need to update this apparatus or new weapons will be designed. How does a TSA agent explain the smells on their hands to their loved ones at home following a day of inspections? Everybody loses in this way of protection and keeping us safe at the airport. Yet, it’s the plane itself that is falling apart. All seems counter-productive doesn’t it?

For all of you folks out there who say that if you’ve got nothing to hide you shouldn’t get so all worked up over body scans and “thorough” pat-downs and who also happen to be a bunch of ignorant bigots to boot, have you stopped to wonder if the TSA has a DADT policy? Just sayin’, ya know?
