Negotiators Lower Expectations Ahead of Mideast Peace TalksPosted on Jan 2, 2012
Israeli and Palestinian negotiators are scheduled to meet in Jordan on Tuesday, but don’t expect fireworks. Nothing has changed since Palestinians threw up their hands at continued Israeli settlement construction. Peace talks fell apart in September 2010 and it looks like they’ll stay that way. According to the BBC, “The priority for both sides will be to avoid blame if the process cannot be restarted.” Back in 2010, Palestinian negotiators said they would boycott peace talks if Israel approved the development of new settlements on occupied Palestinian territory and President Obama backed that position. However Israel’s conservative prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, claimed the need to accommodate “natural growth” as he approved new construction. The U.S. quickly backed down and the Palestinians decided to abandon peace negotiations to instead seek statehood recognition at the United Nations. —PZS Advertisement New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. “Clearly Hamas and Hezbollah, that is to say, Iran and Syria, are not interested in anything that looks like an understanding for peace with Israel. Israel, in turn, want nothing to do with any negotiations with Hezbollah or Hamas.”
The only Peace with Israel that can be realized is that the Palestinians and other residents of what Ben-Gurion described as the borders of Biblical Israel vacate the land because the Zionist movement to restore Biblical Israel is in progress and has been since the plan was hatched around 1900.
There was to be nothing according to the Plan other than cleansing the land of the non-Jewish inhabitants and re-establishing Eretz Israel as instructed by God.
This has been the Zionist dream from the beginning and it is still in progress and will continue to be until it is realized or it is totally defeated.
Israel has not and until the Plan is completed will never consider peace - period.
Just keep in mind IMAX that the Nation Israel is older then either Hamas or Hezbollah. They came into existence as a resistance to the Nation Israel long after the beginning of the Nakba.

It’s people like these that might bring peace to Palestine after the fanatic “heterochromatics” are defeated and shamed for their ignorance, fanaticism and fascism! Watch and learn that there are some decent and enlightened Jews working for peace with truth and justice!

hetero,
What are you saying? Being disagreeable is your default position? lol
I said that many on this Web site desire no peace between Israel and its neighbors. Exactly what do you disagree with?

hetero,
You misunderstand why I say many here are not interested in any solution which forms a peace with Israel.
I’ll leave the rest for you to decide.

A thread opening with a senseless comment from the fanatic and misinformed “heterochromatic” does not deserve comments from informed and sensible commentators beyond saying that these so-called Peace Talks are dead on arrival for reasons that the petty-minded ones, like “heterochromatic,” will never understand!

I doubt that you and I would agree upon terms.

My God, more filler! The only thing here is the quote from the BBC. Everyone must be taking a long vacation holiday. Mr. Scheer, are you listening? Oh, you’re probably on vacation, too.

hetero,
Hezbollah too has condemned the PA for holding talks with Israel.
Clearly Hamas and Hezbollah, that is to say, Iran and Syria, are not interested in anything that looks like an understanding for peace with Israel. Israel, in turn, want nothing to do with any negotiations with Hezbollah or Hamas.
The very definition of a quagmire.
On the positive side; every other Arab country engages in open trade and participates in cultural exchanges with Israel.

You may have noticed that very few on this Web site desire peace between Israel and its neighbors.
