News Corp. honcho Rupert Murdoch speaks at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, in 2009.

The News Corp. scandal that has already claimed one major entity in the Murdochian media empire—that would be News of the World—isn’t showing signs of dropping from the headlines anytime soon. On Thursday, mogul Rupert Murdoch and scion James agreed to face members of Britain’s Parliament to field questions related to alleged sketchy practices on the part of certain news outlets.

Oh, and also, the FBI is getting involved, and there are rumors of shady Scotland Yard operatives. All this is starting to read a lot like a News Corp. tabloid story.  —KA

The New York Times:

In an abrupt reversal, the News Corporation said on Thursday afternoon that Rupert Murdoch and his son James would testify next week before a British parliamentary panel looking into phone hacking. They will appear along with Rebekah Brooks, the chief executive of the company’s beleaguered British newspaper group, known as News International.

Separately, the Federal Bureau of Investigation opened an investigation on Thursday into allegations that News Corporation journalists hacked into the phones of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, according to people briefed on the matter. They said the investigation was prompted by news coverage of the hacking scandal and by requests from American politicians.

Rebekkah Stone has resigned from News Corporation….

now the head of the DOW….
what a joke. If you are rich and you do something unethical or illegal, especially in the US of A, you apologize and resign from your C level job, live comfortably in one of your many homes off the millions you have invested, and wait for the next job to come along after the dust has cleared. Write a book. Spitzer your way to a talking head.

Different story of you are poor, or even middle class. We folks go to jail or ruin our reputations forever.

Who sets policy in a corp like RM’s News-crap-corp? Who is responsible for the policy? Will the politic let this billionaire hide in the recesses of corporate policy and structure?

This is capitalism run amuck but this time run amuck on the blood, bodies and tears of murdered teens, 9/11 victims, soldiers sacrificed to capital’s wars.

Shame. Shame. Shame.

The FBI is running the 9/11 coverup. Any phone messages that incriminate the
government will disappear. Shanksville, Pentagon, and the WTC demolitions
require an unprecedented level of police authority and data scrubbing

Should Newt Gingrich be worried?

If memory serves one right was he not the one that had the US congress
pass specific legislation to make RM a US Citizen within a period of a few
days?

Talk about power [money?].

“the FBI is getting involved”

Reassuring to know the FBI has its priorities in order.

Oh, and also, which brave Truthdigger will rage for an investigation of this 9/11 “hack”?

Hacking 9/11 victim’s phones…
A hack too far?
U.S. congressmen and British Parliamentarians calling

Formerly scared to death of Murdoch…
Or kissing stinky places…

The above is a fine example of the bullshit news reporting we
get in America—The New York Times manages to leave out a
very important point—————after refusing to come to testify
before Parliament the Murdoch’s, we’re too busy”, were told
they would be jailed if they did not—they decided to then!

These lies and distortions of corporate owned media here in
the states is nothing but propaganda of the lowest sort!  The entire corporate crime family setup needs to be dismantles,
the US Constitution followed and all US corporations
disbanded as none are allowed to last more than 20 years
per the Constitution—funny how Republicans love the
Constitution until it conflicts with their commission of crimes!
