Ready to Go: President Obama says that although Hurricane Sandy is a “big and powerful storm,” the U.S. is prepared to face it. In remarks delivered Monday, the president said residents should listen to their state and local officials. “When they tell you to evacuate, you need to evacuate. Do not delay, don’t pause, don’t question the instructions that are being given because this is a serious storm and it could potentially have fatal consequences if people haven’t acted quickly,” he said. Ballot Extension: Early voting in Maryland and Washington, D.C., has been canceled for Monday and Tuesday because of Hurricane Sandy. The last day for early voting in those areas was supposed to be Thursday, but it has been extended until Friday because of the megastorm. (Read more)

Data Delay: The Bureau of Labor Statistics could potentially delay a pre-election employment report because of the hurricane. Cue Jack Welch and the rest of the jobs report truthers. (Read more)

Car Trouble: A Mitt Romney campaign ad about the auto bailout is drawing criticism for misleading voters into believing that automaker Chrysler will move Jeep production to China. “Obama took GM and Chrysler into bankruptcy, and sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China,” the ad states. Fiat, the parent company of Chrysler and Jeep, responded by saying that “U.S. Jeep assembly lines will continue to stay in operation.” The Obama campaign followed with its own ad, calling Romney’s claim a “lie.” (Read more)

Mitt Mouths Off: A recently unearthed video of Mitt Romney spouting bigoted comments is making the Internet rounds. In the video from 2005, the then-Massachusetts governor claimed “it’s not right” for gay parents to have kids. In his anti-gay remarks, Romney said: “Today, same-sex couples are marrying, under the law, in Massachusetts. Some gays are actually having children born to them. We’ve been asked to remove the phrase ‘mother’ and ‘father’ and replace it with ‘parent A’ and ‘parent B.’ It’s not right on paper. It’s not right in fact. Every child has the right to have a mother and father.” (Read more)

Video of the Day: Joss Whedon, the director of “The Avengers,” and creator of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” has “endorsed” Mitt Romney for president because it could spur the zombie apocalypse. Whedon says in the tongue-in-cheek video that “Like a lot of liberal Americans, I was excited when Barack Obama took office four years ago. But it’s a very different world now, and Mitt Romney is a very different candidate, one with the vision and determination to cut through business-as-usual politics and finally put this country back on the path to the zombie apocalypse.”
