Manuel Zelaya in Costa Rica in 2009.

While Manuel Zelaya, Honduras’ ousted president, remains at the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa, prosecutors have charged three military chiefs with abuse of power in connection with the country’s coup d’é tat last year.

The BBC:

Honduran prosecutors have charged three military chiefs with abuse of power in connection with the ousting and exile of President Manuel Zelaya last June.

The Supreme Court will now decide whether to start a case against them.

Yes, this is another empty publicity stunt by the coup regime to provide material for washington post/state department spin to legitimize the illegitimate.

The generals will either be acquitted, or the oligarchy will sacrfice them to continue “legalizing” the fascist coup. If they are thrown to the dogs let it be a lesson about making pacts with the devil.

I agree the military cupola should be held accountable
to the law, and lament that it took a visit from Craig
Kelly to make it happen. I think the generals will be
acquitted, both by law, by the Honduran people.

I am angry though to see how easily the US can force
their will on Honduras.
