Look: Yoko Ono’s Anti-Gun Tweets Include Photo of John Lennon’s Bloody GlassesPosted on Mar 21, 2013
In a plea to end gun violence, Yoko Ono has tweeted a powerful picture showing blood on the glasses that John Lennon was wearing when he was shot to death in New York City on Dec. 8, 1980. Since that day, the text above the photo reads, more than 1,057,000 people have been killed by gun violence in the U.S. The 80-year-old widow of the former Beatle included the photo in a series of anti-gun tweets Thursday, a day after what would have been the couple’s 44th wedding anniversary.
