Limbaugh Dubs Oil Spill ‘Obama’s Katrina’

Ever at the ready to undermine the authority of our socialist president, the GOP’s biggest and baddest yammerer, Rush Limbaugh, and some of his like-minded friends jumped on the opportunity to repurpose the Gulf Coast oil spill, rhetorically transforming the eco-corporate disaster into “Obama’s Katrina.”

Of course, in so doing they also revisited and reaffirmed what a travesty Katrina was for the Bush administration. Rushie, you’re doing a heckuva job.  —KA

New York Daily News:

As the massive oil slick started washing up on the shores of the Gulf Coast, waves of right-wing radio criticism of the Obama administration’s handling of the environmental crisis began hitting the White House.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh called the oil slick “Obama’s Katrina.”

“He’s getting even with his country for all of its transgressions in the past,” Limbaugh said on his Friday show. “So we got an oil slick, added benefit, now he can cancel offshore drilling.”

I just have to wonder where you’re getting your information.  We know where Limbaugh gets his.  He makes it up.  How about you?

What exactly was “Obama” supposed to do about this oil leak that hasn’t been done?  Do you have any plans?  Please share them, I’m sure everyone would love to know what can be done by an administration left to clean up 2 wars, a shattered economy, and now, we find out, a MMS that was run as an arm of the oil industry.

Maybe you think Obama is magic.  I know he has been called the “magic Negro”.  Perhaps you thought that was true.  He can just shake a stick and everything bad will just go away and everything will be right again.

Do you have any fucking idea what Katrina was, what it did to hundreds of thousands of people, and what caused the secondary disaster?  I don’t think you do.  I certainly don’t.  I think you’re just another right wing putz who doesn’t have a teabagger party to attend today so you’re crusin’ the progressive sites looking to stir up shit.

Ah, the people on the Gulf Coast are calling this Obama’s Katrina….. Limbaugh picked this up from the people and not the other way arond.  Its a nice bit of propaganda jui jitsu.

I ‘really appreciate’ that Truthdig.org is using a known propagandist to discredit people who want to and will challenge Obama’s Administration for its slow and ineffective response to this man made disaster.  It is even more important since Obama completely sold out his base yet again in his deal to open up more of the US coast to drilling.  Obama’s Administration needs to be put on the defensive and not coddled.

I don’t think Limbaugh is trying to be serious on this.  I don’t see thousands of people stranded without food and water while the government does nothing.

Totally false equivalence, as usual Limbaugh doesn’t disappoint.  We can always depend on Beck and Limbaugh for a desperately partisan interpretation of current events.  Ho hum, another example of socialism and Marxism.  Get your pitchforks and torches, we’re gonna storm Washington DC and take our country back TONIGHT!

Yawn.

Good One CaptRon!

Limpballs himself is the ‘massive oil slick’ looking for a place to happen; whose massive ego feeds off his groupie ‘ditto-heads’ who make him feel, oh so special; while he nurtures them with the same hatred they so crave; in other words, a looping, circle-jerk of self appreciation.

One day ‘bouncy-boy’ will gag on that golden microphone, he tauntingly hovers over.

Conservative talk show Host, sure! More like Fascist Story Teller, selling soap!

You need to look in the mirror. That is, after you look up “transference” in the psychology books. You obviously don’t listen to Rush.

I think Limbaugh is able to serve a very useful service with the oil spill, but it has yet to be implimented is all. Just drop the whale from a helicopter into the water between the oil and the shore which should buy time as it will force the oil further out because of the splash (bellyflop!!). He won’t drown because fat floats so he can be used over and over until the well gets capped. If he gets oil soaked by chance, we can use Dawn dish detergent to scrub him clean paying particular attention to his mouth. This will not then become a natural disaster but an intervention.

Wow! Rush is really out of the Loony Loop on this one. Hasn’t anyone told him that it was a fucking North Korean Sub that torpedoed the God damned platform? For Christ’s sake, Rush, get with the program.

Unfortunately, he is right. It took an entire five days for the government to get involved with this. Maybe Obama was too busy practicing his bit for the correspondants dinner?

American politics is 100% BS.  Limbaugh attacks a Democrat for following yet another Republican policy, and the left attacks Limbaugh for opposing their Republican president.  Welcome to 21st Century America.
