The Fukushima plant as seen four days after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

Finally, a little good news out of Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear station—but just a little. On Tuesday, workers struggling to contain radiation leaks and prevent further damage to the plant got a bit of a boost with the restoration of lighting in the control room.  —KA

BBC:

It is hoped the development will speed up work to restore cooling systems vital for stabilising the reactor.

Lights are on but nuclear politicos are not home.

Hopefully, the worst is behind them.  Tepco needs to recognize the other person is them if they had been thinking that way and not “greed” they may have weathered tsunami and minimized extreme losses to equipment and perhaps Eco-system.

Minus lights going out.

Wouldn’t it have been better to leave the lights off? So the workers would not be able the see the flesh flaying from the bones of their co-workers, and watch their own teeth and hair fall to the floor?
