Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has branded the Taliban’s 18-hour siege of Kabul and places across eastern Afghanistan on Sunday an intelligence failure and called for an investigation into NATO security operations.

Thirty-six insurgents were killed with four civilians dead and several dozen injured. Karzai praised Afghan troops who responded for their speed and bravery. —ARK

The Guardian:

The criticism underlined divisions between Karzai and his backers. The US defence department spokesman George Little said the Pentagon did not believe there had been an intelligence failure.

PH—- that’s better. polls say something about our feelings about the war…....
The hasn’t been any votes about it that were overruled by cartoon villains.

the last time there was any big change in the war was when Obama committed all
the additional troops…. the polls at that time showed that most Americans didn’t
support the war but did support the decision to add all the extras…. not quite a
black and white deal.

Kabul is like Dodge city in the wild wild west.

The Americans overwhelmingly want our troops out of there, the Afghans want us to leave, whats the holdup?

Are our votes being overruled by military industrialists and oil companies?

No wonder we can’t sell democracy, we don’t practice in action what we preach in theory.
