Eleven days after a car accident nearly claimed his life, New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine was in stable enough condition to entertain the possibility of resuming work from his hospital bed. His staff is apparently looking into video-conferencing options for him to use when he is ready and able.

Do you think he now believes in seat-belts, and the calamity of speeding? His legacy of governor maybe wrapped in his disregard of traffic laws.

While I wish John the best, I can’t help wonder what huberous makes governors and other “law makers” feel that the laws they enact for us peasants do not apply to them?
My Governor was in a similar accident when the State trooper driving him hit a chuck hole and up ended the governor’s SUV while driving over 90 MPH.
I thought the American Revolution ended the concept of royal rule for those of us living in the States. Another elementary school lie I guess.

I hate to see any mammal experience pain, but in general I can not work up any admiration for John Corzine. Haven’t the people at Truthdigg read Mother Jones on the sale of our highways to private corporations? The New Jersey Turnpike has been well paid for all ready by the tolls of its citizens. Corzine a former associate of Goldman Sachs is working with the same to sell off the turnpike to private interests.

“For Rendell to turn over toll collection for the Pennsylvania Turnpike to private interests and Corzine to do the same with the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway is a travesty to the taxpayers who have more than paid for these roadways. If anything, the toll booths on these thoroughfares should be eliminated and these highways should officially be made part of the free Interstate highway system—they should become “freeways,” not privately-owned toll roads.”
If you like Corzine you can have him; he just smells too much for me. My eyes water every time I hit New Jersey. The EPA ought to declare him a superfund site.

OK, so this guy, the Governor of New Jersey, sworn to uphold the laws of the state of New Jersey is riding without a seatbelt (violation?) in a vehicle doing 90 MPH in a 65 MPH zone (violation even for Official vehicles unless pursueing a law breaker). Where was he going? Maybe to an important lunch. His actions were indeed multiple violations
Even if his driver is ultimately at fault here, the Governor deserves his share of blame. The Governor, if not giving a direct order to drive at that speed, did in fact give his tacit approval putting citizens in danger. At least two vehicles very nearly became insolved in a collision with the Governors vehicle, through no fault of their own.
He should be impeached.
I recommend feeding him his Mashed Potatoes with a spoon. He might put his eye out with a fork.
