Israel Under Int’l Scrutiny for Flotilla Attack

Cairo meeting
AP / Amr Nabil

The Arab League meets in emergency session Tuesday in Cairo to condemn Israel’s attack on the Gaza aid flotilla.

Relations between Israel and former like Turkey and the U.S. went south following Monday’s raid on a flotilla en route to Gaza, as differing reports emerged Tuesday to challenge Israel’s account and the U.N. Security Council registered its official displeasure over Israel’s actions in the incident.  —KA

The New York Times:

The fallout from Israel’s attack on a flotilla trying to breach the blockade of Gaza widened Tuesday amid growing criticism of the raid, which left nine activists dead. Egypt reopened its border with Gaza to allow humanitarian aid to flow through, and activists said they had sent another ship to the area.

More than 600 activists arrested after Monday’s raid in international waters remained in custody in southern Israel, although an Israeli police spokesman said that about 45 people were being deported.

As international pressure mounted for Israel to end its blockade of Gaza, fresh reports of violence between Israeli troops and Palestinian militants underscored the fraught security situation along the border. The Israeli military said two militants who infiltrated from Gaza had been killed in a clash with troops, and news reports said three other militants had been killed in an airstrike after a rocket attack from Gaza.

How much longer is the world going to put up with this Muslim ignorance. Until women of the Islamic countries are FREE NOTHING WILL CHANGE. Change only happens from within and when half the population or more is treated like a slave hidden in the home, or wearing a Burqua no SUNSHINE ON THE BODY, THIS is ignorant unhealthy and Brainless to keep women suppressed anywhere in the world. Most Islamic countries kill-execute Gay, Homosexuals and Lesbians. No human rights anywhere! Islam is the Problem the Koran perpetuates women slavery. Forget Israel concentrate on Islam equality for women. They rape little boys and hide the women sick group of people, no nutrition no education just acid in face, lashes, stonings in the Saudi Kingdom, suicide bombers from Indonesia to palestine, What is wrong with the world today is that MEN DO NOT STAND UP for WOMEN`S rights in Arab countries. There is your problem, now, work on it. Any support for Islam from Western countries, european countries, here is my suggestion Put on a full length Burka and sit in the hot sun after an hour or two the look in the mirror and ask, can I wear this the rest of my life, see what happens until you try this YOU GOT NOTHING TO SAY AFTER ISRAEL!

Few days ago I came across a curious investigation,
carried out
by some Israeli historian named Schlomo Sand (here’s
his
wiki article).
He considered it to be the so-called “deadend of the
national mythologization”.

Makes sense to me, as long as I’m tired of reading
about the bloody acts of this “chosen nation”

I’ve come to know about the guy
here

I guess the world is tired of Israeli aggression and defiance of the rule of international law.

The Israelis want to possess nukes and deny others whom they threaten to have them, how convienient.

Pete, I don’t know if Martin Cooper (Inventor of the cell phone) was Jewish nor do I care, I do know the Israelis have hijacked the phone billing records in America via Amdocs and Infosys and use it to routinely blackmail our politicians or so states the NSA white paper on it.

Please open your minds to the bigger picture. Turkey has been trying to pick a fight with Israel 18 months. Turkey didn`t make the European Union, therefore plan B support the Iranian nukes.Usa Has military bases in Turkey, therefore turkey feels they have leverage to pressure USA to punish Israel. Bigger picture, Iranians need more Time for Nukes, and The North Koreans and Turkey are running a screen play for Iran, they are all buddies. Hugo-Castro and others will jump on the train of Hate Israel. Foolish Mexico has 20,000 murders, 75% women along their border, and yet they feel they have a right to whine about 11 deaths of people who attacked the IDF NAVY.“If your living in a glass house, throw no stones”. Cant say nothing until you clean up your own back yards, this hipocritical double standard applied to Israel is Historical. As ALWAYS 5770 years of History from the printing press to the cell phone, your all a bunch of Jews.

Ooooo, does that mean someone will be designated to use harsh
language at izrael?

Be careful because if izrael doesn’t like the language they will
retaliate with phosphorous ordinance.

“israel forever” (earlier comment) as well as the UN Israel delegate, both show clearly why it is absolutely necessary to start studying, understanding and practicing non-violent resistance. Israel’s first line of justification turns out to be:  “The Israel soldiers fired in self-defense. They were being attacked with clubs and sticks.  They had to do it!”
If the flotilla people had all been trained in nonviolent resistance, understood its necessity, promised not to deviate from its principles under any circumstances, believed in its efficacy and were willing to risk their lives for it to succeed—the soldiers would have not been given any excuse to shoot.  Therefore they might not have shot.  We’ll never know. Or, if the soldiers had shot anyway, Israel would have found it very difficult to explain why.
Furthermore, if this ship was part of an extended campaign and followed by a second, third, fourth ship, carefully planned, thoroughly publicized, absolutely committed to nonviolence under any circumstances, even though the first ship was fired on, Israel’s reputation as a result would have been so diminished and criticized worldwide that it would have been impossible for them to get away with firing on a second ship, let alone a third.  The blockade might have been broken by such a coordinated action.
For most people, who know nothing about nonviolent tactics, and couldn’t care less about them, it is easy to dismiss any such ideas as unworkable, silly, fatheaded etc. etc. There are historical examples (all too few, it is true) to prove otherwise. The principle is to use violence against itself, to force it to fail.
Creative opportunities for its use are everywhere, yet few people give it the time of day.  Hopefully, we can develop nonviolent strategies and achieve nonviolent mind-sets before the human race blows itself into oblivion—violently.
I think of my grandchildren—and yours.

The important but overlooked story here is that our AIPAC controlled government is the partner of right wing Israel. Our politicians fear losing their jobs unless they do what AIPAC wants. The US has supported the blockade of Gaza and they funded and armed the massacre in Gaza with US taxpayer funds. Notice that Obama has made not condemnation of the current piracy and massacre? Notice that the US pressured the UN to not place blame in its statement and to have the investigation done by the Israeli government? Kind of liked having pirates conduct there own criminal investigation. Let me guess. Israel will find that their commandos did nothing wrong. Just a guess.

Work for campaign finance reform so that the US government can be returned to its people and not do the bidding of the right wing Israeli government.

People act out of humanitarian motive not go to ship with firearms, clubs, and knives!

“Peace activists” were attacked with clubs, knives, and firearms Israeli soldiers! This is not peace

This is violence!

“Peace activists” were stab Israeli soldiers until the soldiers were forced to defend themselves!

What country would allow such attackers to infiltrate her country?
on the Ships were active terrorists from Hezbollah!

The point here that the ship passengers came in advance with weapons to attack the Israeli soldiers

...
Although Israel offered to move the goods in a controlled manner to prevent transfer weapons are and

the ship passengers Refused to this offer to cause provocations ..
