Ali Akbar Salehi, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, speaking in Tehran in 2009.

Iran made another defiant gesture with regard to its relations with the United Nations on Monday by officially declaring that two U.N. nuclear inspectors will not be granted entry to survey the country’s nuclear plants. Over to you, IAEA. —KA

CNN:

Ali Akbar Salehi, the chief of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said Tehran barred the International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors “due to their presentation of false information and early disclosure of official data,” according to the news agency.

The IAEA confirmed that Iran objected to two of its inspectors.

The nuclear free Middle East prposed earlier by Hafez l-Assad of Syria, and lately sponsored by the US, represents an atractive proposition out of this protracted confict. All parties have accepted this proposal except Israel, which vehemently denys stocking any nuclear weapons.Having said that, there is no third way out for Israel, either to accept UN Resolutions or face dismantlement

Iran should allow full inspection of all nuclear facilities, whether peaceful or military in nature—just as soon as Israel does.

The best Iranian answer for the Israeli/American intimidation is to cut oil supply to the West.Since the US intends to strangle Iran to death, then death it is, for oil and Israel.Truth is,Israel is gambling with its life on this matter.

More CNN propaganda. Iran, after suffering decades of abuse from the West and from Israel, remains peaceful, never expressing hatred for the American people or State. Truthdig might consider not promoting this harmful garbage. I see no one is signing his name to this propaganda piece.

Ellis:
“For thanks to the IAEA, the nuclear arms race between the A-bomb nations never ends, while kept nuclear illiterate are nations like Iran who attempt to use uranium for the good of humanity.”

No really, Ellis. You are INSANE. “Light” and “Dark” my ass. You’re truly nuts.

hello. ah, the delicious virtues of deep rich dark chocolate. let me be clear, i have nothing against nuking Iran into glass, but make no mistake about why we refused to support the public uprising to overthrow this regime. Mr. non singing Buffet invested in those power plants, and he is confident they will not be nationalized. he is pretty darn sure, or American interests will be protected, or rescued, or however it goes down. America will not allow Iran to purchase intercontinental ballistic missiles- you have my word on this. trust me. Iran will be our friend, and this whole radical Islam thing will be forgotten. they are not our enemy. i am. you have nothing to fear, but what i tell you to fear. open monitoring on the internet- where do you come up with these preposterous notions? kindergarten? somebody get me a five year old.

Yes a very shallow article,
and yet it does show the stalling tactics of the Supreme leader.
In sports we used say, “Killing the Clock”, or Time to stall and, or, create scenery for distraction like this next all female floatilla to embarass the Israeli Navy, They sent the love boat, nude deck sunbathing!
Israel, should send only female navy personel and let the girls have some fun,
the leader of the womens group is Hezbolla leaders wife.
Ali Akbar-Allah Akbar, The nuke rep. we all know what that means. Islam wants to show control, inspect the inspectors and let the girls do the suicide missions, some things never change, equality through death, says Hamas.
Iran knows how to play the Global Game ,
I think N.Korea can be another distraction,
Imagine a country that executes Gays and Journalists, and they are getting support over Israel, those Burka lovers, Gay Men hide in Burka! Yes The Supreme Leader, that entire concept has to go, “I`m the King of the castle and everyone else is a dirty rascal.” Can`t imagine a world where the Supreme leader has access to a nuke supreme, He is better off with extreme choclate!

Iran has been extremely committed to the precept that good international relations depend on a certain amount of transparency. Yet, even after decades of complying with IAEA inspections - over and above those signed on for - and 4000 + verifications that they are not up to evil : the spin stays constant : “The U.S. has suspicions”.
What we do know is that the CIA has both ginned up false evidence and certified that Iran has no active weapons program. Prior to the invasion of Iraq of grounds of “the U.S. suspects”...finding nothing…we were treated to the ‘outing’ of CIA NOC Valerie Plame/Wilson who ran the mideast nuclear threat desk. Her husband Joe was sent on the fool’s errand to see if Nigeria was to supply Iraq with yellowcake.
Myself, I can’t imagine why the base stock of fertilizer which existed all over Iraq could have been an interest, but who knows ?
And I am so glad that Obama is giving Iran a fair shake and a new deal. BTW Does that mean that supplies allowing the U.S. built Iranian reactor to continue to provide power to their electrical grid will be supplied by the U.S., or will they have to continue to do the best they can to overcome theft of billions of their money and the sort of Blockade that nearly killed the young republic after 2 years…when they have existed under one for 31 ?
Why would they do that ? Beats me. That’s what they signed on for when they ratified the NPT. It’s so much nicer to claim somebody else is breaking the treaty that you have never come close to honouring.
Look up the Third Pillar of the NPT. It’s not like it’s in code.

Think how refreshing it would be to turn our attention away from high unemployment, increasing foreclosures, and the disaster in the Gulf (of Mexico)?  Wouldn’t a war with Iran take our mind off all these unpleasantries, as well as continue our beautifully successful re-make of the Middle East?  Why not follow one success with another?  It would take care of a lot of internal turmoil, no?

I’ll wake up one day to the news that we’re at war with Iran.  I’ll wonder how it all could have happened?  Were there any signs that it would have all led to this?  Well, never mind, the big guys are in charge.  They seem to know how to take care of everything.

As Lee Greenwood would sing “God Bless The U.S.A.”

This report is extremely insufficient to make any judgment about or use for solid information.
Iran expelled two of the inspectors.  How about the others?  Can inspections still be carried out adequately?  Will two replacements be appointed? Will Iran’s restriction bar any replacements also?
Just how threatening is such a move?  Threatening to whom?  Why?  What is Iran trying to accomplish with this?  It is more of a move to show independence?  Resentment?  Future intentions>  And if so, what intentions?  Have any other countries ever done this?  What will be the response of the international agencies?  Too many unanswered questions! How will this move be propagandized in Iran?  In the U.S. and in Israel?  In the international community?

Iran should just bail on the IAEA and the NPT. Why not? Any and every time Iran
tries to ‘play the nuclear game’ the rules are changed on them. Iran has nothing to
lose. Well except for the country. Because we all know that the US and Israel are
fixing to “start the war” on Iran. Can we all say ‘armada’ and the Straits of Hormuz?
