Introducing Sarah Palin, Fox News PunditPosted on Jan 11, 2010
Those who can, do, and those who can’t ... become pundits? Although she has disparaged the media many times in recent memory, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is joining the Murdochian empire at Fox News as a contributor and commentator, according to The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz. Perhaps the slogan here should be: If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. This latest addition to Palin’s repertoire of party tricks might seem like a step down or a tacit admission of defeat at the political game, but Kurtz, for his part, doesn’t seem to think so. Regardless, we’re just glad that “The Daily Show” will be around for Palin’s Fox debut. —KA

hello. i really admire the woman for what she has
Report thisdone for Alaska. i believe this is the beginning of
her alienation from mainstream America. in the
general sense, she is powerful and likable; but as we
get more of the specifics about where her head is
really at: i doubt she will be so mainstream. has she
ever hired an illegal from the parking lot of Homely
Despot? how does she feel about the drug war in
Mexico? what does she care about the comfortable
relationship between Wall Street and the beltway?
should we sever the umbilical cord to Israel? the
reality of American life is remarkably different in
the lower forty eight, than it is for the indigenous
wealth of Alaskans. does she care about the size of
government? just because she can cook for her family,
drive her own car, and pack heat: does not say she is
willing to send the pink slip to government
employees. and to make everything worse for herself
politically- now she is wealthy. she is a cross
between the Florida Sunshine Girl and Annie Oakley,
and that may be endearing as a television celebrity
(and i wish her all the success she can handle); but
i see her future now as better hosting the Tonight
Show, and ending the childishness of late night
entertainment: than anything seriously political.

It’s very tempting to make light of Palin at Fox, and maybe I’m too serious, but ... I watched Amy Goodman’s recent program about our homegrown “white supremacy” organizations being “on the rise”—though “rise” is scarcely the word. The ignorance out there in Fox country is pretty scarey. I think we should take it seriously and do as much as we can to “rise” to the occasion that 2010 offers for education and organization.

As the stomach turns, a most ridiculous comment is superseded by another more ridiculous comment! Now Beck and call will need to work much harder for ratings?
Real life Entertainment started with Jack Ass and seems to be gaining. Wonder if Palin will have a Moose head behind her talking head?
In the end, insanity seems to be becoming so much more more commonplace, seems all to be part of the grand plan?
“Delude on” needs to be a motto!

She’ll just quit anyway. Besides lying, it’s what she does best.

I just wonder how anyone could possibly believe that “fair and balanced” crap when Fux News has hired every out of work conservative politician that can put two words together from a teleprompter. Those two words don’t have to make any sense just as long as they can read them. Fux ran the Dick Bush administrations propaganda campaign for 8 yrs and made $billions directly from our pockets then gives them jobs where those same politicians can continue the same propaganda live on set and get paid back.

Faux Snooze becomes ever more soporific.
One only hopes that, with more exposure, she will appear even more ridiculous to even more people.

I think it’s a perfect fit, really. I don’t own a TV;
Report thishaven’t since ‘94 so I don’t watch Fox not-the-news-
brainless-hysterical-fools network. By joining Fox I’ll
be assured of never having to see or hear inane
blather. The devil be praised.

O’Reilly must be on edge with Sarah joining the ‘deception’ network. His ratings are going to drop if she’s anywhere near his time slot. ER medics stand bye, O’Reilly is hyperventialting.

Fox News is perfect for Palin. She joins a cast of know-nothings, hysterics, and fundamentalists. Here, she can make up her own stories, fake-check her own “facts”, and spout off any silly drivel she wants. The Democrats are devastated that she won’t be running for political office, but, hey…she joins Levi Johnston is cashing in on her celebrity! This is America. Let freedom ring.

Do you really think their ratings will skyrocket? I don’t. I think there will be a certain “train wreck” effect, but I don’t think it will be long lived. Even her demographic will figure out how little she knows and how much of a typical government inside cheater she is.
If I decide to kill my TV, I must contact Direct TV first. They’re killin’ us.
She would do well to follow Patrick Henry’s advice about O’Reilly. After he loofahs her to a bright red color he might get confused and start jamming the vibrator up her ass instead of his own.
Let’s all send Billo some D sized batteries. It’s a statement, so dead ones are OK.

I can’t help thinking of the corollary with Liberace ... as people squirmed in excrutiating embarrassment during a time of homophobia, Liberace “laughed all the way to the bank”.
Now, while we can’t help squirming in embarrassment over Palin’s ignorance, stupidity and evident ineptitude ... she’s laughing all the way to the bank as well.

Report thiswasted. As far as the TV set is concerned ,it has become more or less an ornament in my pad and what is wrong with Vinyl Tap ,music is generally apolitical.Nevertheless America will soon be showing the world

Why actually have to ‘work’ and be accountable to those pesky voters when you can make ‘milllions more’ running your mouth about the ‘same stuff’ you ALREADY don’t know anything about anyway….???

I don’t quite understand. Palin quits as Governor of Alaska to become a pundit/TV personality. Ed Shultz is a TV personality/pundit, at MSNBC-TV, touted to be Senator from North Dakota. Did Saturday Night Live go to her head, or has she realized that people in the media might know more than she did about political representation. Thus, she is in training for a new political life. I hope she gets the chance to hear what people really think of her. She might find that “God’s Plan” is certainly not for her to be POTUS. I could see her in a political sit-com. Kind of a combination of West(Right)Wing and I dream of Jeannie where she winks and makes all her problems go away. What do you think???

A good example of the revolving bore and how far a wink or two can take you! Millions of dollars worth of TV time given to the “right” by a “media giant”—and she’s paid for it yet! Note to the “left” (behind?)—Unite or die!

She’s the gift that keeps on giving.
Perhaps they will give her an hour to co-host with Michelle Bachmann.
As these two cracked people fight for the soul of the conservative movement, one would have to wonder, from their words, if it has one.
