Inquiring Brits Want to Talk to Bush and Friends

White House / Paul Morse

That U.K. inquiry into the Iraq war has already spoken to two prime ministers, but Sir John Chilcot’s panel would like an American take on things. Senior officials from George W. Bush’s administration, and maybe even W himself, have been cordially invited to give evidence.

(Thanks, Laura.)

Telegraph:

Sources in Washington said the inquiry sent out emails “about three weeks ago” to senior officials in Mr Bush’s government including, it is believed, the former president himself.

Other requests are understood to have been made to Dick Cheney, Mr Bush’s vice-president, Condoleezza Rice, the former secretary of state, Donald Rumsfeld, the former US defence secretary, and Stephen Hadley, an ex-national security adviser – as well as to their deputies and senior assistants.

I have always had the feeling that if anybody from the Bush Administration gets “hung out to dry” like Scooter was, it would be Connie Rice. I think she knows it too, which is why she chooses to stay away from media. She knows they hung Scooter out and they would have no trouble using her. The only reason that I think they haven’t already is that they are afraid of her intelligence and perception that is favorable to a lot of Repubics. Those “Good Ole Boys”(Bushy and Cheney and Rummy and Rove) would have an easy conscience turning over a weaker minority representative from their side if it would save their hides. Otherwise Cheney may need to shoot another friend in a hunting accident. All the Brits need to do is push it and get some cooperation from our side. Probably won’t happen, but if it does I’m sure they will find leads to the Black Woman being responsible. Run Connie Run, to the nearest Brit and tell them everything. Just don’t accept any invitations for a family reunion from the BOYS.

When asked about the debauchery in Iraq, Pelosi a real moral compass stated it
was a “tragedy”. I guess thats all we’ll get out of her. The Speaker of the House
was interviewed by Maddow.

We need to remember that millions of ordinary people from many different countries publicly protested the war against Iraq.  Then the shakey “coalition of the (more or less) unwilling” was pressed into service.  It is quite clear that nobody—absolutely nobody—wants to take any responsibility for anything except “getting rid of Saddam Hussein”—as if that couldn’t have been arranged by “black ops” without killing tens of thousands of innocent Iraquis—and provided that there was some kind of wide agreement that even that goal was “justified” or “the real reason.”
So now here we are, trying to get belated admissions of guilt, responsibility from government officials who, at the time, were more than willing to spend trillions of tax dollars on a venture that did far more damage than good—and are still “involved”—more or less—in a continuing slaughter in Afghanistan.
“I did it with my little hatchet.”
