Implanting Democracy in VenezuelaPosted on Aug 28, 2010
A Venezuelan politician has seemingly gotten to the heart, or at least the chest, of what elections are all about – attracting attention. Gustavo Rojas, a candidate for the country’s National Assembly, is holding a campaign-fundraising raffle in which the lucky winner will receive a free ... breast augmentation. Breast enhancement is popular in image-conscious Venezuela, so much so that a fad in recent years has been to give girls implants as their coming-of-age 15th birthday gift. —JCL

There is already democracy in Venezuela. It’s the United States that’s losing democracy, if the Majority Common Population doesn’t reclaim democracy, and democracy doesn’t come on the Republican side of the political spectrum.

Speaking of getting chopped up, I have a dear friend who would not think any of this is the least bit funny.

T&A is one thing. Getting chopped up is another.

Here in Latin America tits-and-ass campaigns are only superseded in number by those of the bread-and-circus preference.
Rojas is just another “junior”—a pampered upper middle class twit. Maybe his slogan should be Tits for Twits—or perhaps Twits for Tits?
It’s very easy to see why even the opposition polls in Venezuela are predicting that the Chavistas will best the opposition one more time by receiving about two thirds of the vote.
As the world goes to hell in a handbasket, the opposition twits take their tits to Miami to buy Versace.

I don’t understand being driven to surgery, for Dog’s sake, by a poor self-image, as a ‘good time’. And that’s not even mentioning the rather peculiar aesthetics involved.

Conservative trick for votes against the populace’s best interest.

Robesp:
Do you people EVER unfurrow your fevered brows?? We’re talking about a guy who likes tits for godsake! Who cares what party he belongs to? You feed right into the stereotype of the modern Puritan progressive - someone who is desperately worried that somewhere out there, someone is having a good time.

Anyone notice how the article fails to mention what party Rojas is for? He’s for the right-wing opposition, just goes to show how desperate the old guard is getting in their attempts to take votes away from Chavez and the PSUV party.
